Christmas at the Jetplanes

Somebody is getting excited for Christmas....

So I started decorating the house last night. I actually got up in the attic to bring down the decorations, which means 2 things. 1st I am strong enough to get all the crap down and 2nd I really want to have decorations in this house.

The Mr. thought since he wasn't going to be here that I wouldn't want to put up decorations. Boy was he wrong, I love Christmas decorations. I'm not doing outside lights, just putting up the 2 pre-lit topiaries by the front door.

The tree is pretty much done, the mantel is still being worked on as well as dome other decorations here and there. Since the camera is dead, I tried my best to take some pictures with my web cam. Sorry they suck. But I am loving the new look of the tree, its all silver and shades of blue. I found these great silver, glittery starfish decorations from Hobby Lobby, I bought 2 boxes at 1/2 off.

Also, I was tagged by Mrs. Stilettos for a Candy Cane tag.
The instructions are to Copy, Paste, Answer, Add a Question, Tag the 3 bloggers with the most recent updates on your blog feed/roll, let them know they've been tagged in a comment, and learn about your fellow bloggers.

So...here are the questions and my answers:

1. What is your favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

2. Favorite Christmas Song? I don't like Christmas Music - but the one that brings me back to my childhood and I sing it to get on the Mr's nerves is by Alvin and the Chipmunks.

3. Favorite Holiday Memory? Its not a "sweet" memory but funny. My Uncle Al telling me that Santa was drunk the night before because he put all the stickers for my Cabbage Patch Baby Play Pen on upside down. When actually my mom put the stickers on before she put it together, so she didn't realize they were all upside down.

4. What is your favorite cookie/treat to make? I love chocolate chip cookies.

5. Have you ever made an igloo? No, but we have built forts.

6. Do you love Starbucks? Sorry I don't like coffee.
7. What makes the perfect Snowman? Creative Accessories

9. Best gift you have ever received? hmmm.... tough one, the most memorable was my toy kitchen I received. I loved playing with it and all the fake food.

10. What is the snowman's name on Rudolph? Not sure maybe Frosty

11.Silver or Gold? Silver

12. What is your favorite Christmas decoration? I love the Christmas tree. When I was growing up my mom had a large tree in the living room, but my brother and I got small trees in each of our rooms that matched our rooms or hobbies. Mine always was dancing related.

13. What's your Christmas decorating style? Classic but with a modern twist. I'm not big on Santa Clauses, Snowmen, etc.

14. Do you hang stockings? Yes! We have 4 for the Mr., me, Milo and Charlie. Stocking are big at my house. And that's a tradition I want to carry on to our kids.

15. How many days do you celebrate Christmas? From the moment to tree goes up

16. What was your favorite ornament on the tree as a child? When growing up my mom picked a Hallmark ornament for my brother and I. We each had our own series - mine was dancing mice and my bro's was Crayola. I love those ornaments so much.

17. Where will you be spending this Christmas? My hubby, where is TBD. He has to have knee surgery and it depends on when it will take place. He may have to have it the week of Christmas so the 4 of us may be spending the holiday in Texas.

18. When you do open presents? In my family we got to open 1 gift Christmas Eve before we went to bed and the rest we opened up Christmas morning. But I do admit know that we're older, we did open them all Christmas Eve last year because we wanted to sleep in.

I'm passing this on to the 3 in my Reader with the latest additions...

1. Some Like It Southern
2. Nina Knows Best
3. Dirty Martini Diaries

I'm with you on the decor...not a big fan of snowman and santas all over my house. I think that was a very 80's thing to do!
