Mr. Jetplane is Leaving Me...

For 3 weeks to go to survival school in Washington State...he leaves tomorrow and returns 4 days before we close on our house...Cue the panic attack!

I miss him already and he hasn't even left yet, is that weird? That being said, while I adore my husband we have been fighting like cats and dogs lately, we're stressed with the upcoming move, me transitioning to working from home, buying a house, etc. etc. So 3 weeks away could do us some good, but I just wish it didn't have to be right now and it didn't include him being out in the wilderness for 3 weeks.

While we can't discuss what this training is (he can't tell me all about it anyway) for those mil wives out there, some of you will know what this is all about.

We should be able to talk for the first week or so, but toward the end we'll have no contact. No, I'm not complaining that my husband will be away for 3 weeks and I can't live without him but, I am complaining because I wish he could be here to help with this move alittle more since I'm going to be working 50+ hours a week at work to ensure that my job is in a good place before we move. I understand it the cross we bare as mil wives so I better suck it up... gotcha...
Will do boss...
Now on a much more serious note. I wanted to take a moment to introduce to another USAF mil wive that some of you may have been familiar with as Southern Prep and some of you may not have been.

I was first introduced to her wedding planning blog last year and felt an instant connection to her.
1. Both young women living in the South.
2. Both planning a wedding on June 7th, 2008.
3. Both having a love of lime green.
4. Both marrying a man in USAF.
5. Both soon to become mil wives.

Her husband David is an EOD guy. On May 11, 2009 while in Afghanistan, he stepped on a land mine. He lost one leg below the knee and severely injured the other. Over the past few months she has blogged about their recovery and it is truly an amazing and inspiring story.

Keep David and Liz in your prayers and never forget that people like David risk their lives everyday to protect our freedom. You can keep up to date with their story here.

I remember Survival Training. It was the first time my husband and I were apart when we were dating. Luckily, he was only out in the wilderness for a week! Make sure you have lots of yummy meals planned when he comes home because he will need it. My hubby lost 15 lbs!

I'll check out the blog and pray for them! Enjoy your YOU time for 3 weeks!

What craziness for you right now! Hang in there, friend, it will be over soon. How fun to get settled in your new house, decorating and organizing it!

David and Liz will be in my prayers. What a heartbreaking story.

Oh.....THAT Washington survival school. I was worried sick about my man the entire time, because of stories I had heard, but once we were finally able to talk again he told me it wasn't as bad as he'd heard. Good luck!!!

Hey Sweetie, I feel your loss...yet to happen ...when he leaves. God Bless him and keep him safe. You take care of yourself, it's so much more difficult for the ones left behind (wives). Thank you so much for your touching post about my Liz and David!
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

I remember them posting about David on the EOD Wives board on Facebook after it happened. My husband was EOD for 8 years, and now teaches future EOD techs at the school house here in Florida. David and Lix are in my prayers.
