The Ridiculousness of my Marriage

Is that we get into full on arguments about the dumbest things. I mean REAL dumb sh!t. We'll argue about whether the actor in a movie was in another movie or television show. We'll argue about whether or not we have chicken nuggets in the freezer. We're argue about where we we're going to eat dinner.

You see these aren't life or death issues here... well to be honest we got into a HUGE fight right after Hurricane Katrina and we were driving to a wedding in St Louis from Indianapolis. Let's just say that I didn't speak to him for almost the entire drive. But other than that, we agree on most 'big things' and create WW3 on seriously stupid crap.

So what's our LATEST fight.... This sh!t....I thought for sure we'd be on the same side of this issue, but sadly we are not. I'm uber pissed off that Will Smith has a big enough head to think that he and his young son can remake a CLASSIC. I find it appalling and will not give them ANY of my $. Mr. thinks they might be able to remake it and it be good. Oh and he insists on seeing it...insists!

I find that incredibly hard to believe...Jackie Chan people....Jackie Chan is no Mr. Miyagi and Jaden Smith is no Daniel Son.

I mean this is a classic don't mess with a classic.... FYI - this song played on our pre-wedding video shown at the rehearsal dinner for Mr. Jetplane's section of pictures. That's how much this man loves some Karate Kid...

make him go alone. We have the same issues. There are a lot of things I'll let him drag me to, but I refuse to pay ?10 to see a movie I have no desire to see. If he really wants to see it, he'll either a) go by himself or b) find someone else with equally questionable entertainment tastes to go with him.

I agree with you 100%...you can not remake a classic. But this just goes to prove that Hollywood is running out of good ideas..what are they going to do next? Try to remake The Breakfast Club? ...love your blog by the way. :)

Are the rest of you like me and think that the Mrs. will win on it.
I would hate to face this little bit of spunk in a true showdown.
That's what I love about her,. do you guys agree?

Ha! I said the same thing about Jackie Chan! I was like...I just don't know about him. But my husband said "who else would they pick" haha. I guess he is like the only friendly martial arts actor out right now.

First off I agree with you and I am totally going to geek out here. Before films are released to the public they do free test screenings. Movies are rated from 1 to 100. Most score around a 70. The new Karate Kid scored a 98 which is almost unheard of. My hubby works in the industry. That is how I know a lot of rediculous film info. I also agree with your fellow followers, Hollywood is running out of ideas! They are turing Monopoly into a movie, are you serious?!

The make-up sex must be great to argue over such trivial matters!!

I had the same argument with my hubby! He now blames me for ruining the movie (which we haven't seen) because he all he can think about now is that I pointed that "karate" is Japanese, and what they're actually doing "kung fu" in the remake which is Chinese. I'm sure its not a coincidence that Jackie Chan is Chinese.
And, it's stupid to remake an already popular movie. ;-P

I totally agree with you! I don't think this movie is going to be good at all.
