Eat Pray Love

I read the book about 2+ years ago...why? Honestly, because Oprah told me to. She told me it was enlightening and life changing.
I don't know if it was because I was preparing for my wedding or because I was a child of divorce or if I had too high of expectations of of this book....but I just wasn't a fan. I wasn't a fan of Liz Gilbert. I felt she whined too much, gave up too easily, and just took herself way too seriously. But hey, those are my own opinions.

I went to see the movie on Saturday afternoon with a girlfriend, our husbands went and watched The Expendables. I went to the movie because, surprisingly the previews look better than the book and Ms. Julia Roberts can sell me an igloo in Alaska.

Did I like the movie, well I liked it better than the book. What were your thoughts?

FYI - Her real 2nd husband looks nothing like this...

and that really pissed me off...

I am seeing it tomorrow! I loved the book, but I did hear less than stellar reviews on the movie. I have seen a picture of her husband.. short, bald, and grey but you know they had to give her a Hollywood hunk in the movie. :)

I've never read the book and for some reason don't find the movie to look all that interesting. It will probably be something that I Red Box... and use a promo code with so I get it for free :)

I just started reading the book and I'm having trouble getting into it but I want to read it before I see the movie.

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of the book... at all. But, I also thought the movie looked like it would be better than the book. And agree, that just because it has Julia Roberts in it, I was going to have to see it. But, I haven't been yet. So, I can't tell you how I feel about the movie. I'm not expecting it to be my favorite movie of all time, though.

I also wasn't the biggest fan of the book either.

I won't see the movie because I don't like Julia Roberts. ha!

What does her husband look like!?

I'm going to see it tonight, actually. I read and liked the book. My mom did not read the book, saw the movie on Saturday and didn't care for it. She said it dragged on and on but that the scenery was beautiful.

I bought book 2+ years ago because Oprah told me too. I read the book last week because Julia Roberts is awesome. I liked it, but I'm not sure if that's because it was in anticipation for Julia or because I just liked it. I liked the movie a lot though :)

I could not for the life of me get into this book. I may just skip the book and see the movie.

I've heard mixed reviews on the book for awhile now and I'm skipping the movie until I read the book.

New follower! Cute blog. One reason I loved this book was b/c everyone who read it took something different from it. Some loved, some hated but everyone had an opinion. I thought the book was better than the movie, but I loved the book perhaps b/c where I was in my life when I read it. I thought JR was great in the movie though, and played Gilbert to a "T"
