With all the pomp and circumstance of today's Royal Wedding I thought it only proper for Pug Friday to share the same.

Even with all the joy and happiness this morning, I would be remiss to not comment on the horrible destruction that America has faced in the past few days. My heart is heavy with the tragic and scary news coming from the Midwest and Southern regions of our country. The Jetplanes have called both of those places home. My aches for the pain and sorrows that all are experiencing. My heart is also heavy for those service members lost this week in Afghanistan at the Kabul Airport.

Its been a rough week and I am happy to share a smile and a few joyous tears this morning due to the Royal Wedding.

TGIF - Ain't that the truth. This week has been difficult and I'm missing the Mr. real bad right about now. I'm proud to say that I have handled the deployment so far pretty well...that was up until this week. But we're getting through it, don't really have much of an option right?

So what did we learn this week....

1. Sugar Free is toxic to dogs.

2. A $1 pack of gum can cost you whole lot more.

3. I love my lil puggie more than ever.

4. I no longer chew gum...well at least not for a while.

5. Deployment still sucks.

Happy Pug Friday Everyone... With Easter just around the corner I couldn't resist. I have a wives' potluck tonight and then a fellow wife is coming over for some adult beverages...quick someone come over and clean my house. Each spouse/significant other/family member has been tasked with creating a 11x11 page for their deployed loved one and we are suppose to bring it tonight. All of these are going up in the squadron for the guys/gals to enjoy. Take a look at what I put together for Mr. Jetplane. I did it all with what I could find at Walmart in a moment's notice...someone likes to wait till the last minute. But all and all I think I did a pretty good job. Yes it does say "You're the Best Around". That is somewhat of an inside joke with us. Its one of Mr's favorite songs and it may have even been played during our video shown at our rehearsal dinner... What you don't know that song...here let me help.

Hello and Happy Pug Friday Everyone... Today is a BIG day in the Jetplanes' household. Why you ask... well Mr. Jetplane is getting his official call sign tonight.

The ceremony (if you could call it that) is called a naming. Its a big deal and there are traditions, drinking, lots of laughing at our people's expense, more drinking, and then the call signs be given out and voted on. This call sign will be Mr. Jetplane's name.

The naming will commence after work tonight and go into the wee hours of the morning (potentially). Obviously I'll have to go pick up Mr. Jetplane if he doesn't decide to sleep it off at the squadron bar. That's another thing some people might not know. Each squadron has its own bar. It is located in the squadron and its decorated with squadron colors and memorabilia. Its a gathering place to eat, drink, and socialize.

So in honor of the naming...and the drinking tonight...Here is this week's Pug Friday.

Let's pray the call sign isn't too bad and I won't be ashamed of him for the 20 years :)

* To address a question I have been asked alot - Mr has been given callsigns at the various squadrons he's been in during training, but those don't stick. Your callsign doesn't stick until you are in your first operational squadron.

Hello and Happy Pug Friday Everyone!! Can I get a woo-hoo for Friday? So happy this week is almost over, its been a pain in my butt. I'm very happy to announce that the MIL and I are getting along swimmingly. YEAH!!!

Hello and Happy Pug Friday Everyone.... The Jetplanes are leaving today for a weekend of snowboarding with our whole squadron. We're pretty excited about it. Believe it or not, I'm getting better at snowboarding...I'm pretty proud of it, and so it Mr. Jetplane.

Here's to a great weekend...and thank you all for the kind words and prayers for us as we're preparing for the deployment. Thank you, it means the whole to me. xoxo

Here's to a great weekend filled fun and laughter. The Jetplanes have a packed weekend. We need to finish up shopping, go pick up the interior doors we ordered, attended the NIU v. Fresno Bowl game in Boise (Mr is NIU grad), and attend the squadron holiday party which for some reason is 80s themed...yeah I don't know about that one either.

This is just about how I feel today :)


P.S. Thank you all for the prayers and support for our friends. He is slowly coming out of the coma. He was taken off sedatives earlier this week. His eyes are open, but we don't believe he can see as of yet. He is reacting to his wife's voice and making movements with all his limbs.

That's the good news, the bad news is they are PCS'ing to Bethesda to be closer to family and for him to receive the rest of his treatment and therapy. They might be leaving as soon as next week if everything is in order. And course...we're in Florida for the majority of next week.

We are having dinner at their house to tonight with another couple. All of our husbands went through the B Course together in North Carolina. I am so sad to see them go but I know its for the best.

Please continue to keep them in your prayers. There is still a very long road ahead of them.
