Giveaway Time

Hello all...I hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. I'll be honest the heat just made its way out here into the land of potatoes, aka Idaho, aka where we (sorry I) now reside.

Now that summer is officially upon us all and I'm happy to announce a wonderful giveaway. I was honored to be contacted to host a giveaway for Country Crock and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Reflecting its commitment to wounded warriors and their families/caregivers, Country Crock has partnered with Wounded Warrior Project, an organization established to raise awareness and provide air for injured service members. As part of the alliance, Country Crock has committed $100,000 to the non-profit organization. In addition, Country Crock has created a specially marked tub that will be on the shelves through the end of August and its my goal to get you all involved as well.

Now here's the exciting part...Country Crock has customized a patriotic kit, just in time for all your summer festivities. And I have a kit to giveaway to 1 lucky reader.

The kit includes an eco-friendly tote bag, a picnic blanket, sturdy plastic plates with utensils, corn on the cob holders, a patriotic cup, an American Flag, a cute "corn pen", and last but not least a specially marked tub of Country Crock to enjoy. That's almost everything you need to enjoy a great family picnic.

So what do you need to do to win? Its pretty simple. Please leave a comment here and receive 1 entry. You can feel discuss the Wounded Warrior Project and the wonderful work that they do for our service members and their families. Or you can feel free to leave your favorite summer recipe that can be enjoyed at your next family outing.

Do you want more entries....If you tweet this blog post, please include @mrsjetplane and receive 2 (that's 2) additional entries.

Also, I highly recommend visiting http://www.countrycrock.com/ and making a donation to Wounded Warrior Project. As the 4th of July rolls around, please take a moment to think about and thank those brave men and women that have fought, and continue to fight, for our country.

Enter NOW!!! I'll select 1 winner a week from today on Thursday, July 7th. (a day before my favorite fly boy's bday!)

And the Winner is....

Thank you all soooo much for entering and supporting my giveaway. And without further ado the winner is........

Miss Pretty !!!! Please email be your contact info at leavingandloving@gmail. Congrats!!

Now onto the Jetplanes Halloween... Our original (well my original) plan was Mad Men themed, I'd be Joan and Mr would be Roger, my own personal silverfox. Well Mr. jumped ship on me with some of his friends and decided to be this...

Yeah he's the one with the long dark wig. Yeah...that's my husband. I'm quite the lucky girl, aren't I? This is our friend Dom, creepy looking isn't he? He's wearing a mask and padded the stomach. He creeped people out all night long.

Here are the Jetplanes getting ready at our friends house. I decided to be Rachel Zoe and threw together my outfit. I had pretty much everything except the fur vest. We purchase a yard of faux fur fabric and cut it into a vest. Then I belted it. I paired it with a dress from BR and pulled it up alittle to look more like a tunic.

Starbucks gave me the cup for free and I had to carry my big MJ bag...since Zoe and MJ are total fashion BFFs.

Only problem...most guys and alot of girls out here didn't know who RZoe is... can you believe it... I DIE! Seriously... I DIE!
We had a great time and the boys (if we can call them that) did win the costume contest $50! It paid for some of our drinks. The win was decided by crowd participation and maybe some of us screamed really loud... we may have swung the vote... oh well.

Sookie Stackhouse is my Hero

So as I promised a while ago, I'm going to give you the low down on Dead until Dark, the 1st book in the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Overall I really enjoyed the book, but it is always a little awkward to read a book after you've watched a movie or television show based upon the book. Almost everything in the 1st book is in the television show, True Blood, however some of the things are different in the book than the television show (but I'm not going to tell you what).

First off, this book is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the Twilight series. That was a teenage love story, this is an adult love story, and by adult I mean, sex, drugs, and vampires and all that entails. But I really liked it and would recommend it.

I started the 2nd book and I find that book even better, probably because that story is completely new to me and hasn't be touched on in the series yet. I highly suggest the series.

And in honor of my 300th Post last week and my love of a new book series, I'm giving away a copy of Dead Until Dark.

Yes, that's right a free copy of the book, and maybe, just maybe, a couple of little extras for all you fine folks.

Do what do you need to do?

Simply leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered to win. The contest will end next Monday, so please enter....

Its all happening....

To quote one of my favorite movies Almost Famous.... Its all happening.....

In a couple days I'll be back home in Illinois getting to see my family and the Mr. And I am so freaking excited that I got my suitcase out today to start packing. That's saying something, because I am notorious for packing the night before. Not this time, I'm going to do my best to get out of work no later than 2pm and be on the road by 3pm which would get me home to Illinois around 1am. Yeah, 10 hour drive suck, but gotta do it.
In a few more days.... it will be some of this....

Ok, moving onto more important and less "mushy" we have a winner for the giveaway. Ok, to the winner, I'm going to be honest here. I'm probably not going to be able to get this in the mail to you before I leave for Thanksgiving. I just wanted to be completely honest about that.

So the winner is........

Brittany at Preppy Nonsense
Congrats. And a HUGE thank you to all that entered and became a follower to my blog. Hopefully, you'll all stick around and keep up with my lil ol blog.
Brittany please email me at leavingandloving@gmail.com and provide your mailing address.

The End is Near

The giveaway ends tonight at midnight. Get in before its too late.... Check out the link to the right.
Thursday, November 20, 2008

Don't forget....

To enter my giveaway. You only have a few more days to enter and win these adorable glasses.

I drank a bottle, yes a bottle, of my $5 champagne last night while eating dinner and watching television, out of my very own set of these glasses. They are adorable and a lot bigger than I had originally anticipated. I felt like Kristen Dunst from Marie Antoinette, except I wasn't married off to a child prince and executed... But it was still lovely. And I was able to get a good night's sleep.

Fashion Help Needed

I need some fashion advice here. I just bought this dress from the BR outlet. Its off white with navy, blue, and red. I want to wear tights and knee high boots, but I don't know which ones and what color tights would be best. I thought maybe the lighter brown boots with navy tights, but I'm not sure....

So your input is greatly needed.

Update - got a comment saying I need a black boot round toe with heel. I do have a pair, but I was hoping to maybe wear my new black riding boots inside of the ones with a heel. See below. Thanks for the advice.

And, thank you all so much for entering my giveaway. But keep it up girls, you have until Sunday at 12am.

Sunday, November 16, 2008

We've hit 200 people, you know what that means...

Its GIVEAWAY time! And I'm thoroughly excited about this, so I hope you all are too.

As I've blogged about some, the Mrs. loves herself some champagne. Yes, its true I love the bubbly and what makes the bubbly a little better? Well drinking it out of these pretty lil puppies does....
That's right I'm giving away the Marie Antoinette Coup Stemware from Pottery Barn that I blogged about last week. Aren't they adorable... Love them... And they are going to be the pink ones....

Ok so here's what you need to do.

You'll receive 1 entry if you leave a comment to on this post.

You'll receive 3 additional entries if you are or become a follower to this blog.

You'll receive 5 additional entries if you post about this giveaway on your blog.

The giveaway will end Sunday, November 23rd at 12:00am. So I hope (beg) you will all participate.

And please, email me at leavingandloving@gmail.com if you are going to be posting this to your blog. I don't want to short anyone on their entries.

Much love to all of you that have been reading my blog.

And Cheers to you All!

xoxo - the Mrs.
