When the hubby's away...
I will get crafty... Well honestly I made the 1st wreath before he left. This wreath will be displayed for the entire deployment. I chose to make the wreath with Mr. Jetplane's squadron colors.
Next is my Easter/Spring wreath. Its super easy. I purchased a foam wreath from Michael's that was 50% off. I used several packages of mini poms from the dollar store. Its simple...I used hot glue to attach the poms around the wreath. I was able to do the whole thing in about an hour while watching television and talking to Mama Jetplane....
Something else cute that I picked up at Michaels...these adorable circus theme journals, cards, and cupcake wrappers. They are in the dollar bins...nothing better than that right... I'm eager to see Water for Elephants and this puts me in the mood even more.

Latest Inspirations
First things first...sorry I have been a bad blogger lately. I don't really have much of an excuse. I don't feel like I have all that much to say...well that has any entertainment value... I promise I'll try to be better...I'll try.
That being said I wanted to show you a couple of things that have inspired me lately. I saw this piece of art on a blog about a month or so ago, I apologize I cannot figure out which home decor blog it was, so I deeply apologize. (if you know, please tell me) It appears to be felt pieces stitched together. I am been day dreaming about doing something simliar for weeks now. I hope to do some shopping this week to get supplies.

Secondly this was posted on Twig & Thistle earlier this month. I am thinking about doing something similar to give as gifts to our local (couples) friends. I have some great twine that I have been wanting to use and I will create holiday tags for them. Can't wait!! I know Mr. Jetplane will think I'm an idiot but oh well.

Have you all started thinking about Holiday cards??? I've been scouring the internet for cards... I want to use a picture from our family shoot this past spring with the dogs...
Decisions...Decisions... I like a lot of the cards on http://www.tinyprints.com/ and http://www.minted.com/. For cheaper options don't forget to look at Snapfish and Vistaprint. They have some great options for your as well that are cheaper.
I created and purchased our wedding rehearsal invites and Thank You cards from Snapfish. I used a photo and created postcards...they were nice quality and we received alot of positive feedback. You never have to spend a lot of money to create and send something to family and friends.
Enjoy the rest of your week...and look forward to Pug Friday tomorrow!!

She's Crafty...
Well, at least I do try to be from time to time. Basically, I'm a gal with a lot of ideas, but a little lazy...so that's not always a great combo.
However, during our wedding planning process, I did it all and rather enjoyed it.
Which leads us to what's going down in our house right now. The Jetplanes are preparing to have a yard sale at the end of the month. We have a ton of stuff and want to get rid of it before moving to NC. We're talking some good stuff here.
Anyway, as Mr. Jetplane was going through my file cabinet in the office, stuffed with who knows what, he ran upon a HUGE stack of cards, all the cards we received from our wedding. I kept them, I don't know why but I didn't want to throw them away. I wanted to do something with them.
Then I ran across this from Nesting Blog and I fell in love.
My initial (no pun intended) was to make our initial our of hole punches from our wedding cards. But I decided against it, however, keeping with the idea of doing something with the cards I'm in the process of making an art piece that will be framed. (the above idea will be used for our hypothecial child's room)

I've began cutting the cards with an exact-o knife into strips and doing a weave with them. I like what I have going on so far and since my laptop is still in the shop no pictures yet of my work in progress. Eventually, I am going to frame the my art piece.
Cross your fingers its works out, if it doesn't, well I'm not cutting up the cards from our grandparents and parents.

She's Crafty....
Well, Mrs. Jetplane likes to think she could be. I've been wanting buffet for quite some time now. I registered for one at Pottery Barn in the hope within the first year of marriage we'd buy it with our 10% registery discount. Well it's now at $999, I don't think that's going to be happening in the next 5 months. That being said I've also been itching to buy a console table and paint it sort of an aqua color.
Saturday I ventured out to the unfinished wood furniture store in search of the table that, much to the Mr. disgust, would be painted blue. Well, lucky for him I didn't find the type of table that I was looking for but I did find these lil beauty.
Its costs about $450 unfinished. I would paint it black or stain it very dark. Here's what I have been comparing it to at Pottery Barn.

How do I get this home?
Can I really paint/stain this myself?

Happy Holidays <3 The Jetplanes

I wanted to use black envelopes, so I needed to lighten them up. I doubt our family and friends are receiving black Christmas cards from anyone else. They are different, but I adore them.
