The little things...
Its the smallest things that make me happy lately...I'm pretty sure that's what deployment will do to you. It will make you appreciate what you have. Seeing pictures of your husband smiling and enjoying himself while living and working in the middle of a warzone will make any girl happy, right?
Mr. Jetplane's birthday was earlier this month. He turned the big 3-1. Since he didn't want me to send him any big gifts over there I thought 1 gift I would send him would be a Cubs flag. They fly American Flags in the jets all the time but I thought it would be a nice and fun thing for him to fly a Cubs flag as well. Mr. Jetplane is a Cubs fan, obviously.
Here is 1 of the pictures I got.
He looks happy and that makes me happy. He's growing his mustache back which doesn't make me happy but...you win some you lose some right?
In case you were wondering those green, weird-looking pants are their gsuits. The suits help them deal with the g forces while they are flying. Its purpose is to prevent them from blacking out, it restricts the blood from pooling in the lower part of your body, which would deprive the brain of blood.

Which is obviously uber important...

Happy Birthday Lil Bro
Today is my lil brother's birthday. Today he turns 26, he's 4 years younger than me.
A couple of things about my lil bro... He's a great kid, he's a nice guy, and definitely needs a good girlfriend.
Oh and he's a HUGE Cubs fan. He is always willing to show his love for the Cubbies, no matter what....
He's definitely not the only ones...That's the Jetplanes last year in STL sporting our Cubbie Gear in a sea of Cardinal Fans in the bleachers....

Happy Birthday J...much love lil bro...much love.

Pug Friday - Winter Olympics Edition
Is anyone else glued to the Olympics? Anyone find curling soooo addictive, even though you have NO IDEA what's going on? Hello Johnny Weir, anyone? Mr. Jetplane makes fun of me because I clap at the television when watching speed skating... he thinks I'm a little ridiculous oh well.
I love me some Olympics, what can I say. I'm so proud of our athletes and its great to see them succeed.
So in honor of the Winter Olympics I give you today's Pug Friday.
Image found here.
Also does anyone else just LOVE this commercial that they've been showing this past week. I'm a sap...I can't help it.

Jetplanes Getaway...
This time next week, the Jetplanes will be here...

For those of you that don't know, this is Wrigley Field, as in the home of the Chicago Cubs, AKA Mr. Jetplane's favorite sports team EVER. Yes, Mr. Jetplane is a tried and true Cubbies fan. And at the beginning of every season when tickets go on sale, its a crazy day of waiting in 'virtual' waiting rooms to get as many tickets, for as many games as possible.
To be completely honest, it is way easier to get Cubs tickets when they are playing an away game then getting tickets (that aren't over-priced) from the Cubs themselves. The games sell out and they sell out fast.
We, and by we, I mean I sat in that damn virtual waiting room all day. However I did score 6, count em, 6 seats together for the Cubs/Cards game. If you know anything, you know the Cubs/Cards games are the BEST. It a heated rivalry and since they are so close to each other you'll get a lot of the opposing teams fan in attendance. So needless to say we are excited. We may also get to go to the Saturday game as well, we'll see.
We'll be up in Chicago from Wednesday evening until Sunday morning when I fly back to P'cola. Luckily, it turns out over those few days, a lot of our friends are going to be in the city. A college friend is having a bday party on Saturday. And hopefully, I'll get to see lil baby C again who is just getting so big I can't stand it.
Mr. Jetplane is staying in Illinois to visit family and he'll meet me the following weekend in STL for guess what.... another Cubs/Cards game in STL (with my cousin and her hubby) and then a college roomie/sorority sister's wedding on Saturday. Then we are DRIVING home on Sunday.
YES I know its crazy....

Jetplanes' Midwest Adventures...
The tickets are purchased and we're locked and loaded. Once Mr. Jetplane gets home in the end of March through May is packed full of fun.
March 25th - ATL for Lou's Wedding

April 15-19th - Chicago - I successfully purchased tickets for Cubs/Cards series. Who's the best wife in the world? I am for sitting in the virtual waiting room all day.
April 24-26th - STL - trying to tickets for Cards/Cubs game on 4/24 and K's wedding in suburb of STL on 4/25 at a local vineyard.
May 2-6th - STL - My mom is having her reconstructive surgery in STL. (this isn't 'fun')

Putting on my game face...
NFL Playoffs start today. Yeah Baby! Mrs. Jetplane has on her game day outfit and is ready to view the game on her 55" television. Mr. Jetplane and I will be on speaker phone for most of the game. I stopped by the store picked up a pizza to make and I have a 1/2 bottle of bubbly to finish. I may be the only person watching football and drinking champagne. Oh well.
Go COLTS!
Go COLTS!

Running just as fast as you can...
Hottie Mr. Ryan Reynolds ran the NYC marathon this past weekend in order to raise funds for Parkinson's Disease.

I think all you crazy people that run marathons are incredible. I hate running, I would only run when being chased, and then it may not even be that fast.
The Mr. completed the Chicago Marathon a couple of years ago. I was and still am incredibly proud of him.

Go Cubs Go!

My husband, who doesn't read this blog BTW, is a HUGE Cubs fan. So I'm buying him a 2008 NL Central Division Champs shirt. He's going to love it.

For any of your Cub fans, or Chicago fans in general the BEST website is http://www.wrigleyvillesports.com/

It's about FREAKING time....
It appears they are finally taking action on the "underage" girls on the Chinese gymnastic team. Thank God, I mean seriously those girls in no way shape or form look 16. As a 28 year old that regularly gets asked if she's old enough to drink don't take it to personally ladies if you aren't underage (which you totally are)...

FYI - Last week I was at Target and the cashier (an older gentleman) saw my ring and said " Oh girl, are you really married...."
I responded, "Why yes I am. Just got married in June."
He said, "Wow, you look young. I thought maybe you just graduated high school."
Me: "No, I'm 28 years old...."
Him: "Wow you don't look it"
Me: "Yes I get that all the time...."
Him " I bet you do, you don't look that old"
Me: " Yes, I know."
Him: "You're really 28?"
Me: "Yes, sir. I'm really 28."
Him: "I'll be..."
Me: "Yes, everyone saw I'll be so happy when I'm 30 and people still think I'm in my 20s."
Him: "Yes you sure will..."
Me: "Perhaps, but I'll be 30 and I won't be happy about that..."
FYI - I joke with my hubby that he won't have to trade me in on a younger model because I don't look my age....
