Let it snow...

You may have heard last week the Northwest got one heck of a snowday. At our house we probably got 10" in under 12 hours. This is midway thru the snowstorm. I emailed the picture to Mr. Jetplane who was enjoying his time in Vegas for work last week. It was great that we got some snow because our ski resorts hurting. And in an ironic twist we went on our squadron ski trip just days before the great snow.
Here's the view from our driveway, not bad huh? This resort got over 24" of new snow in 24 hours 3 days after we leave. Yeah I know....painful right?
No fear we still had a great time. Here we are warming up and nursing our bruises. Well my bruises Mr. Jetplane is a pro at snowboarding.
This is the bunny hill I spent most of the time on.
There is Mr. Jetplane getting ready to get on the big ski lift.
Mr. Jetplane headed up the Squadron Ski Weekend, so we had to live in the big house and organized the party the first night. We had a great house. Here are a couple of shots from the main floor. It was a 3 level house. The lowest level had 3 more bedrooms, bathrooms, game room and media room.
Here is where we enjoyed watching all the playoff games. Yes we definitely need ones of these in our forever home...which with the Air Force probably isn't going to happen for a very long time :(
But all in all it was a wonderful weekend getaway, light snow and all. Its wonderful to get to take these quick getaways together, especially with how much time these guys work. We're one big ole family and its great to enjoy some down time together.

Paula can't ruin this day...

Better late than never, right? Well as promised here's a follow up post from the Jetplanes' Mexican Adventure. Even though we had a hell of a time getting down there, it was worth all the trouble.
Mr. Jetplane, as always, had a great time...As you can see by the picture he decided to join in with the band during the cocktail hour...oh yes I was ever the proud wife...

The first day we were welcomed by the Bride and Groom and had a fabulous Cocktail Meet and Greet. We had delicious food and drink, and broke it down at da club....
Let's just say...there was alot of fun being had by all. After a travel nightmare its good to let loose with several adult beverages...right?
The next day was the wedding and after all the drama from Hurricane Paula, it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day in Mexico. I had always envisioned Jill getting married on the beach. There is only 1 thing that you have to worry about when getting married on a beach resort... Guys in speedos...Thankfully my drunk husband liked to take pictures of the randoms walking by and gawking at the wedding. I'd like to say this is the only one...but I can't :)

Here is the lovely bride walking down with her father.

The whole wedding party as they exchange vows...I may have cried. Look at that sky...seriously wasn't a hurricane supposed to hit? Maybe it did...in the form of our friend that ended up in the pool. This picture is of him fully clothed...thankfully we don't have pictures when he wasn't :)
Here are a few additional pictures from the photographer. I think you can really see how truly happy they are. I love these pictures.

Here we are getting her together before the I do's.
Here's the whole crew that attended the festivities. Screw you Paula!
And just for fun... Congrats Jill and Billy....we love you. xoxo

We're Back...

That bitch Paula and U.S. Airways ain't goin to keep me out Mexico for wedding...

I promise to fill you in on all the juicy details from the wedding weekend which included

1 drunk husband and 3 orders of room service club sandwiches that he passed out before he ate

1 jump into the pool during the reception (perhaps not fully clothed...this was not drunk husband)

1 fabulous couple who got married on a beach (with 2 beautiful dresses)

1 hell of a day before the trip trying to get down there after my flight was cancelled

But it was all worth it!!

p.s. due to trip, previous flu before trip, and laziness I fell off the fit train for Project Get Sexy...I ran today, it was NOT PRETTY!!! Mr told me that for every week you don't run you lose 2 weeks of training...well I've been bad for 2 weeks so you do the painful math there :(

Friends till the End

Its not just a great Lifetime movie starting Ms. Shannen Doherty, it exemplifies how I feel about a certain friend of mine.

Tomorrow the Jetplanes are heading south to enjoy the wedding festivities of one of my best friends in the entire world, Jill. Jill is getting married to her long time beau and I am thrilled to be able to partake in the ceremonies and be one of her bridesmaids.

I cannot say enough kind words about Jill. She is and always has been this positive ray of energy that makes everyone happy around her. She has an amazing sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She's a true friend and will have your back no matter what.

I met Jill freshman year of college. We were in the same rush class. We were suite mates in the sorority house. We hung out every single weekend and most days during the week. We had a lot of fun crazy times...some which we might not always remember :) or some we wish we could forget.

But on top of all of that, Jill is truly a walking miracle. Right after graduating from college I moved to Indy and Jill stayed in her hometown (our college town). She was working at a clothing store in the mall during the time right after graduation. We had all planned to converge back at college for Homecoming, which at my school was a weekend of pure debauchery that wasn't beat the entire year, and believe me WE TRIED.

I don't recall who called me, but I got a call letting me know Jill was in a terrible car accident. She suffered some pretty severe injuries including breaking neck. She broke the same vertebra as Christopher Reeves, luckily hers broke the opposite direction that his did.

Yes, she was "this close" to be paralyzed. "THIS CLOSE" to being paralyzed. I remember getting to see her for the 1st time. I saw her right after she got out of the hospital. She was sitting in her mom's car, in a Chinese food restaurant parking lot and I can honestly say I was scared to see my friend. I was happy to see my friend alive and believe it or not, still smiling, but I was sad to see my friend in a halo. I wanted to give her a hug but couldn't, really. Over the next few months, I tried to visit her as much as I could. Luckily, living in Indy I was only about 2 hours away from her.

She had a rough road ahead of her but she went through it like a champ. She battled through her recovery and came out on the other side a hell of a woman. As I said before, she is truly a walking miracle and I'm lucky to have her in my life and honored to call her my friend. Every single time I see her, I thank God for keeping her in our life and allowing her to walk. I honestly think about it every single time.

I love you Jilly Bean. You are a wonderful woman and I'm so completely thrilled to watch you marry your best friend this week. You deserve all the happiness in the entire world.

Need a Vacation from my Vacation

The Jetplanes headed back to Illinois on Thursday afternoon and got back on Monday afternoon. Let me tell you, while the trip was great...it went by way too fast and I am totally exhausted from it.

Sadly we had to put our 2 furbabies in the kennel, and let me tell you they are still tired lil boys, and probably still a lil pissed off at us. I hate putting them in a kennel, Milo hasn't been boarded in almost 4 years and last time Charlie was boarded he cried and didn't want to eat....yeah needless to say we were worried.

Thankfully, it looks like all went well, except the kennel owner kept calling Milo by the wrong name....he kept calling him Otis. Yeah...I know. But enough of me being the crazy dog mama that I am.

The trip was jammed packed with family, friends, and tons o' fun. I got to see my mama, Mr's grandma, our newest nephew, my grandpa, and tons of friends. We got to attend a fabulous wedding at a gorgeous venue, drank too much champagne and danced our booties off.

I seriously love attending weddings, especially those of my friends. I miss my friends so very much and its wonderful to get to see them at these important events. I love breaking it down on the dance floor with my friends and feel like we're taken right back to senior year of college...perhaps... dropping it like its hot on the dance floor.

You want to know what song takes me straight back to college days partying it up at the college parties, afterhours, beer breakfasts, etc....

Within the next year, all of my best girlfriends will be married ladies. Its so amazing to see us all growing and becoming wives and mothers. I love meeting and developing relationships with their husbands and babies.

Sadly my camera was D-E-A-D at the wedding...but I do have 1 picture. Thanks to my cell phone which was ALMOST dead.

Hope to steal some from others off of Facebook.

Side note - I was in desperate need of an eyebrow waxing so I got mine did at a Mastercuts near Mr's brother's house and he decided he'd get a haircut. Poor guy the woman brutalized his hair...he is still livid. Just because he's in the military people doesn't mean he gets a buzzcut...poor guy :(

Happy Birthday Lil Bro

Today is my lil brother's birthday. Today he turns 26, he's 4 years younger than me.

A couple of things about my lil bro... He's a great kid, he's a nice guy, and definitely needs a good girlfriend. Oh and he's a HUGE Cubs fan. He is always willing to show his love for the Cubbies, no matter what.... He's definitely not the only ones...That's the Jetplanes last year in STL sporting our Cubbie Gear in a sea of Cardinal Fans in the bleachers....

Happy Birthday J...much love lil bro...much love.

Crazy Lives of the Jetplanes

Well today we'll both be on a jetplane at the same time....

I'll be flying to Pcola this afternoon and Mr. will be on his solo flight in something alittle more exciting....

Its been a rough week for us... I just got back on Sunday afternoon and he's been crazy busy with flying every day this week. Flying in a jet, for those that don't know, is extremely tough on your body, especially when you aren't used to pulling that many g's, on a regular basis. He hadn't actually flown in almost a year.

So as a side effect, he's been dealing with some sickness issues. He's on the patch now for this, but some of the guys are giving him a hard time... asking him if he's grown boobs yet....with his hormone patch... I couldn't help but die laughing when he tell me that...

He said, "Shut Up! Its not funny!"

I said "Oh yes it is...and you know it!"

Then he said..."Yeah it is really funny!"

I assured him..."Don't worry I'm sure that guy says that to every single person that gets one...Just put that one in your back pocket and you can use it in a couple of years to someone else."

Wish him luck today!!

The Jetplanes are soooo money...

The Jetplanes are heading to Vegas this afternoon. Normally, I would (and should) be very excited about this trip, however I'm not.
#1 I really don't have the bandwidth at work right now to take a vacay, especially since I'm going to be out all next week for our real vacay that we have planned for like 6 months.

#2 Its for Mr. Jetplane's sister's wedding. Which we found about it last month. We aren't besties by any means and certain things happened at my wedding which I still hold a grudge about. Even though Mr. Jetplane had a long talk with me during our dog walk last night, begging and telling me I seriously need to let it go. I'm sorry, but I don't think I can.

That being said, I'm not going to do anything to ruin her day, I wouldn't do that.

But I have packed 3 dresses - the white/purple one and 2 black ones. I'm also bringing my new bright blue shoes...

So I'm going to pre-apologize for my lack of posts in the coming days.
I'm sure I'll come back with all sorts of 'good' stories.

Without My Military Man This Weekend

Yes, its very SAD news. Due to my crazy schedule at work (not home till 7pm last night and got in around 7:30am, ate lunch at my desk) I couldn't take today off.

Mr. Jetplane left for NC this morning, bright and early and unfortunately I had to take him to the airport at 5:30am this morning. He's going to look for us a place to live, we've decided to rent the first 9 months we know we'll be there and see what happens after his training is complete.

I reminded him that he is there for house hunting, not goofing off with all of his friends that are there right now. I reminded him that he just got his knee back 100% last week (6mo since his surgery during Christmas) and let's not f it up with your buddies new bike ramp into the lake behind his house. He and THEY have been warned. If my husband comes back with an injury, heads are going to roll. They might be a hell of a lot bigger than me, but I'm feisty and they know it.

So me and the boys (milo and charlie) are going to be having a VERY low key weekend. Which I will admit I'm definitely looking forward to. Mr. Jetplane as you know my now is extremely active, and I feel a real 'veg' session of Lifetime, Sophia Champagne, and a Tostitos party pizza in my future.

Oh... and I promised to do my 30 day Shred...

But I miss my hubby like crazy already...

For those of you that have asked - we're moving the last week of August. We are moving to Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. (yes that is really the name of the base, yes it is still humorous if you are immature, yes its ok to chuckle, I have already)

We do not have to live on base and have chosen not to. We can live on base, however due to the fact we have no children (they don't include dogs) we can only get a 2 bedroom house. Due to our dogs and my working from home when we move, that's just not feasible, if I want to keep my sanity and Mr. Jetplane wants to keep his wife.

Jetplanes are home...finally

The Jetplanes had another fantastically tiring and awesome weekend in the Midwest with family and friends. As you may recall Mr. Jetplane has been up north for 2 weeks and I have flown back and forth to meet him first in Chicago and then in St. Louis. We met up Friday afternoon in St. Louis when he picked up from the airport. We then headed over to my cousin's house who lives in STL.

The Jetplanes had scored great bleacher seats for the Cards v. Cubs game that night. My cousin and her hubby are Cards fans, the Jetplanes are not. But we still had a wonderful time. This guy was in the bleachers next to us. We didn't get hassled too much at the game, sporting our Cubbie love. But at the bars later, Mrs. Jetplane got into it alittle with some Cards fan (male of course). The drunks boys (yes Boys because they couldn't possibly be MEN), said rude and annoying sh!t to me. Well I'm a girl that stands up for herself, and asked them if they were seriously trying to pick a fight with a 5'2" Cubs fan? And just how immature are you? Don't worry... I held my own, and they all agreed that they were obviously very immature and drunk. Luckily, I had some friends in town for the game as well, and got to see them. Here's my MOH, Dr. W. Yes, she's a Cards fan and I still love her. Saturday we left STL for IL to go to my old college roomie/sorority sister K's wedding. Her and I are both from Southern Illinois and it cracks me up how 'different' our neck of the woods is for our friends from the Chicago area. Her and her hubby got married in a lovely Catholic ceremony and then the reception was held at a local winery. The Jetplanes stayed at one of the cabins at the winery. Check out of lovely heart shaped hot tub in our cabin... it was awesome. Here's a lil shot of the Jetplanes at the reception. Yes, I am sporting another ruffled dress.

Sunday morning we headed home and stopped to meet my parents at a Bob Evans off the interstate close to their house. It was great to see them. We made the long trek home and were so happy to get home safe and sound.

A better recap is coming...

Happy Monday!!
XOXO

Jetplanes Getaway...

This time next week, the Jetplanes will be here...

For those of you that don't know, this is Wrigley Field, as in the home of the Chicago Cubs, AKA Mr. Jetplane's favorite sports team EVER. Yes, Mr. Jetplane is a tried and true Cubbies fan. And at the beginning of every season when tickets go on sale, its a crazy day of waiting in 'virtual' waiting rooms to get as many tickets, for as many games as possible.

To be completely honest, it is way easier to get Cubs tickets when they are playing an away game then getting tickets (that aren't over-priced) from the Cubs themselves. The games sell out and they sell out fast.

We, and by we, I mean I sat in that damn virtual waiting room all day. However I did score 6, count em, 6 seats together for the Cubs/Cards game. If you know anything, you know the Cubs/Cards games are the BEST. It a heated rivalry and since they are so close to each other you'll get a lot of the opposing teams fan in attendance. So needless to say we are excited. We may also get to go to the Saturday game as well, we'll see.

We'll be up in Chicago from Wednesday evening until Sunday morning when I fly back to P'cola. Luckily, it turns out over those few days, a lot of our friends are going to be in the city. A college friend is having a bday party on Saturday. And hopefully, I'll get to see lil baby C again who is just getting so big I can't stand it.

Mr. Jetplane is staying in Illinois to visit family and he'll meet me the following weekend in STL for guess what.... another Cubs/Cards game in STL (with my cousin and her hubby) and then a college roomie/sorority sister's wedding on Saturday. Then we are DRIVING home on Sunday.

YES I know its crazy....

But it should be a great time.... Go Cubs Go!

Well Hello There...

I'm currently in route to Chi-town and couldn't be more excited...

Well I guess that's not exactly true. I wish it was warmer and I wish Mr. Jetplane was with me.

But other than that, I'm so excited to see lil baby C and spend time with Lou.

Since graduating college, all of us girls live all over the place and don't get to see each other that much. But when we get together, its like we've never been apart. Its amazing and I think that a sign of a true friend. I love my friends so much and I miss getting to hang out with them.

Jill... if you're reading this today, we'll miss you TONS. Can't wait to see you at the wedding. Love you.

So now you're saying to yourself... Mrs. Jetplane its Friday what about the puggies. No fear my dearest readers, even though I've left the reservation I've left you with something extra special this week....

Hello Lover.... Is that a pug on your arm, or are you just happy to see me??
