Its You & Me...

Well folks here she is...

My Kitchen Aid Mixer that I HAD TO HAVE during the registry time. My mom bought it for me prior to the wedding for a shower gift. I love it, its my favorite color. I love to cook but I'm not the best baker, which is even funnier but since I'm anon I won't go into that...

This is my 2010 Resolution #7. See list below...

So its You and Me, Ms. Thang... this year we're going to tangle. We're gonna mix sh!t, as Ms. Kate has so eloquently put it before. Its gonna happen. I've had you since Spring 2008...I think its about time I tried you out.

Pray for me... so far I'm the lady that buys cookie dough in the pre-cut squares or buys the bags of blueberry muffin mix where you just add water...

Air Kisses to You All..

Thank you for the kind comments and emails I got yesterday from my 2010 post. I really appreciate it.

I know it goes without saying, but it feels soooo good to know you're not the only one out there that is suffering from the same issues. Growing up is hard, our parents were right...enjoy your youth, your carefree misspent youth...it goes by way too quickly.

So THANK YOU to all you wonderful ladies, I really appreciate each and everyone of you.

Now with that out of the way... This arrived with Mr. Jetplane when he came back from Illinois on Sunday. Its my Christmas gift from his dad and step-mom. I knew I was getting it since I specifically asked for it.

I guess its kinda funny for me to ask for a cookbook from his family since, his mother, stepmother, sister, and sister-in-law, all don't really cook. When Mr. and I started dating I asked him what his favorite meal was, because I would cook it later that weekend. He told me Hamburger Helper....yeah ladies that's what I was dealing with.

But I digress, the cookbook is very interesting. Its not just a cookbook, it let's you into Ree's and Marlboro Man's lives. When Mr gave it to me, I sat in the chair and read the whole thing that night, I've never 'read' a cookbook.

I'm excited to get to cooking...Mr. Jetplane loves all the food I've made from her blog. Mr. Jetplane is a meat and potatoes type of guy, but he will eat (and like) other types of food.

Key to Mrs. Jetplane's Heart

Well I know you're all asking yourself what did Mr. Jetplane get me for our 1 year anniversary? I know... I'm sure the pain is horrible...

I am happy to report that Mr. Jetplane did good, however I did drop a hint like the size of a nuclear bomb that even my husband couldn't ignore.

Isn't it cute? I love it and have gotten quite a few compliments on it already.

What did I get him, well I decided to get him a Ryan Sandberg jersey, who happens to be one of his favorite (retired) Cubs players. He loves it.

The Key to My Heart

Hey There.. Mr. Jetplane... I don't think you ever read my blog, but here's a hint on something your wifey would like for her bday or anniversary gift...

If money is no object, well take a look at these...

Mr. Jetplane's Potential Gift

Okay... so the Jetplanes celebrate 1 year of wedded bliss on June 7th and Mr.'s 29th bday is July 8th. (FYI my 29th is June 2nd)

So we're both hard at work thinking about both bday and anniversary gifts. Here's what I'm thinking for his bday or possibly anniversary gift.

I know, I know! 1st is paper, but Mr. and I are non-traditional. We're going to be spending paper while gambling in Biloxi so there you go... We've also both agreed to not spend too much money on gifts, we're trying to be conservative.

Happy Valentine's Day

Well, its pouring down rain here which I guess is an accurate description of how I feel today about this holiday.

I miss Mr. Jetplane and unfortunately he couldn't come home this weekend, which sucks since he's off on Monday anyway. Oh well. March 17th is the light at the end of the tunnel, he'll be home in a little over a month. I can't wait to live with my husband again. But that's means I have to start picking up after myself again... ugh...

Well I'm sure you are all wondering what Mr. Jetplane got me for V-day. Well he sent me a lovely bouquet of pink tulips to my office on Wednesday. He knew how crazy the past week has been and wanted to brighten my week a little earlier. I love that man of mine.

I miss him and would rather be doing some of this and blogging right now.

Milo wanted to tell you all Happy V-day as well.... and to enter his Mama's contest.

Turning the Page

Mrs. Jetplane is happy to announce that she doesn't feel like her head is going to explode this morning. Is she better? No, but baby steps ladies, baby steps.

I talk to people all day on the phone, we're talking M.D.'s and Ph.D.'s, and I have to apologize for my horrible sounding voice. They tell me don't worry, all that cold medicine, it doesn't work... thanks guys, appreciate it.

That being said, Mrs. Jetplane decided to treat herself a little bit. This morning, I'm having a very bad breakfast of these...

Breakfast of Champions right? Well, this is me totally not caring this morning... Sugar Free Red Bull is my saving grace in the mornings, afternoons, or whenever. I don't drink coffee so Red Bull is my fix.

Mrs. D - your giveaway is in the mail today, sorry I'm horribly slow. Please accept my apologies.

And Finally.... As we all know tomorrow is Friday (Thank God!) and that means its Puggie Friday. Now I love posting pics of my own hunk of loving Milo, but I do happen to know several pug owners out there that read this very blog...

So I'm calling out all pug owners, if you have a cute, funny, crazy, strange, etc. picture of your pug, a friend's pug, a neighbor's pug, or even your mortal enemy's pug.... Send it in to leavingandloving@gmail.com and you'll get your own Pug Friday shout out. But more importantly from now until March 15th, I'll be accepting Puggie Pics and the picture voted best will win an awesome surprise... Shh... Its a secret.

More details to follow on Puggie Pics Contest.... Stay Tuned... But Mrs. Jetplane is accepting pics now, so get those bad boys in...

Off to eat my sleeve of donuts... mmmm... donuts.

XOXO

Sookie Stackhouse is my Hero

So as I promised a while ago, I'm going to give you the low down on Dead until Dark, the 1st book in the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Overall I really enjoyed the book, but it is always a little awkward to read a book after you've watched a movie or television show based upon the book. Almost everything in the 1st book is in the television show, True Blood, however some of the things are different in the book than the television show (but I'm not going to tell you what).

First off, this book is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the Twilight series. That was a teenage love story, this is an adult love story, and by adult I mean, sex, drugs, and vampires and all that entails. But I really liked it and would recommend it.

I started the 2nd book and I find that book even better, probably because that story is completely new to me and hasn't be touched on in the series yet. I highly suggest the series.

And in honor of my 300th Post last week and my love of a new book series, I'm giving away a copy of Dead Until Dark.

Yes, that's right a free copy of the book, and maybe, just maybe, a couple of little extras for all you fine folks.

Do what do you need to do?

Simply leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered to win. The contest will end next Monday, so please enter....

A Makeover in the Making

So I am currently working on makeover for this lil blog of mine. Over the past couple of months, blogging and blog stalking have become quite a hobby for me.... with the Mr. away someone has some free time on her hands, doesn't she??

That being said I thought I would update by blog roll, so please let me know if you would like to be added.

Additionally, I've received a couple of questions here and there. I'd be happy to address any and all questions, you ladies have about the Mr. and Mrs.

Please feel free to ask away and I'll answer them all to the best of my abilities.

And.... Drum roll please..... My next post will be my 200th post. I can't believe it! And to honor the 200th post I'm going to be hosting my 1st giveaway. You hear that people.... I'm having a GIVEAWAY!

Making your Monday lil bit brighter....

Good Morning and a happy Monday to everyone...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm certainly dragging some a$$ this morning. I'm waiting for my Sugar Free Red Bull to get cold, so I can wake up and take on this Monday morning with vigor. Ok maybe not with vigor, but with my eyes open.
I was lucky enough to get to participate in the lovely Nina's Pay It Forward and now its my duty to Pay it Forward as well. So now that it looks like I may actually have a couple of readers out there in the blogosphere, I would hope, beg, and maybe plead that someone (ok 3 people) want to participate.

The "rules" state that the exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and pay it forward.

Here's how it works: I will send a lil something to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn, those three will post this information and pick 3 people they want to send something to and so on.

In order to make things a little cheerier this morning, in your comment, please write about what was the very 1st thing that made you smile this morning (hopefully you've already smiled this morning).

I'll go first. Well that's my lil Milo (who sleeps with me when the Mr. is away), crawling up and snuggling with me when I hit the snooze button. We both didn't want to get up.

Unfortunately, due to postage costs, I can only pay it forward within the United States. If you are interested in participating, be one of the first 3 blog owners {must have a blog in order to Pay-It-Forward} to leave a comment!

The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. Just a gift that will make the person smile.

And a Very Happy Monday to you all...

The Hubby's favorite Wedding Gift

When it came to registering for gifts, the Hubby was somewhat excited to get to use the scanner but 20 minutes into looking at China patterns, he decided that he hated the whole idea.

#1 He preferred to go home.

#2 He thought we didn't need all this stuff.

#3 He thought who the hell is going to buy us this stuff.

I kindly yet firmly let him know....

#1 I'll take you out to dinner after this.

#2 You don't even know what we have. Plus, most of the stuff is from my college days and its starting to look nasty.

#3 My parents are inviting a crap load of people, they buy gifts. Also, our friends are 27-30yrs old, they have good jobs, we're not asking for ridiculous expensive items. Plus, we can come back and buy stuff at a discount.

Okay, crisis somewhat averted but, still DRAMA city.... We moved fast and furiously, and I said I'd come back myself and do it. Ended up doing the rest online.

We registered at 4 places - BBY, Pottery Barn, Macys, & Lowes. Brent only went to BBY but I let him register at Lowe's online. I learn from my mistakes. But I did show him everything we were registering for, and registered for some items I knew he'd love.

His favorite gift is this single serving coffee maker.

First, we didn't have a coffee maker in our house. #1 I don't drink coffee and #2 he didn't drink it regularly and he like various types of foamy coffee drinks so he buys them at Starbucks on base.

Well, since we have bought this Starbucks no longer. He loves it and all the different drinks you can make. I love the Hot Chocolate, he tried to get me to like the Chai Latte but to me it tasted like a Thanksgiving Candle....

Word to the wise, if you do buy this machine. You can buy most of the beverage discs from Walmart (except in Columbus, MS Brent found out). They are A LOT cheaper than BBY and Linens n Things. But I did have a couple of 20% coupons so I did buy some. FYI - Starbucks does make the discs for the machine as well.
