Happy Pug Friday Everyone... This week has been another rough one. I'm hoping to enjoy some fun in the sun this weekend...who's with me?
But on a much more sad note, my thoughts and prayers are with the people and wildlife in the Gulf Coast.

What to Wear...

Mr. Jetplane will be graduating from flight school in June. The graduation will be a formal affair and require a more formal gown, but that being said, Mrs. Jetplane is counting her pennies right now due to future trip to Vegas (30th day/2 yr anniv trip) and upcoming move and potential home purchase in IDAHO.
I wanted something cute but nothing that looks too "promy" or "mother of the bride". Also, nothing too slutty, some of the dresses women tend to wear at these things are at times borderline street walking attire. My goal is to always be classic and timeless, so I could wear the dress again if needed. But also I also want the dress to stand out and be different from the sea of silk, taffeta, and black.
What to see what I came up with...

Dress can be found here.
Let's hope we don't have a repeat of the horror that was my last dining out experience.
OH Baby!

Spring has sprung and baby fever is in the air...
The Jetplanes have been discussing babies alot lately. But with Mr. knee deep in flight school and a potential deployment occurring in December (yeah that's right, I said December), right now its not in the cards.
Earlier this week Mr. asked me the following question that was sort of off putting, "Why do you want to have a baby?"
Why do I want to have a baby....hmm...
I want to start a family with this man that I love more than anything in this world.
I want to have a baby because I turn 30 in June and I have totally irrational fears that I won't be able to have a baby.
I want to bring something into this world that is a combination of the two of us and our love.
And DAMN IT I just want one... but I'm scared to death, I'll admit it. SCARED TO DEATH about having a child. Scared about how I would handle the load of a child with everything else in my life....especially with future deployments that lie ahead.
Sometimes my crazy mind drifts into the nightmares of seeing myself at home trying to work full time like I do now, with 2 kids, 2 dogs, housework, cooking, etc. all by myself when my husband is deployed...and that causes me some serious heart palpitations.
I know plenty of women do it, heck I may work part time or none at all, who knows, but the fear of that unknown shakes me to my core sometimes...
I know I'm not the only one out there. And I know there are plenty of women, mil wife and non-mil wife, that juggle and struggle through the day to day of having kids, work, home life, heck even a social life...I know I'm going to be looking to them as my role models.

Here's my own lil hunk of puggie lovin Milo. Milo has had a rough week or so. Turns out he was bit by some kind of spider last week and let me tell you it was gross.
He's been on his meds for a week tomorrow, and he's feeling good.
This picture is when we're on our way to the vet. He hates the vet, but loves the car ride.
Happy Pug Friday everyone!!!

God gives you another load to carry, another road to hoe, another obstacle to over come, and you think to yourself...why...seriously why...
The past year has been tough for us, and the past couple of months have been really tough for Mr. Jetplane, even though he'd never let you know it. In the past year I loss my step grandmother and Mr. Jetplane has lost both of his maternal grandparents. And now we find out his only living grandmother on may only have a couple of months to live.
His grandmother is a wonderful woman, if we have a daughter she will be named after her (she & my great grandmother share the same name). It was always my dream to have a child (hopefully a daughter) while she was still alive. But that doesn't appear to be in the cards for us.
She will be moved from the hospital back to her house and have hospice come in regularly. Luckily she lives with Mr. Jetplane's cousin, who's wife is a nurse.
Please pray for her, we hope she makes it to her 80th bday in June so we can visit her.

What's in a name...

Well, Mr. Jetplane got his call sign on Friday. This 'call sign' most likely will not stick. Call signs don't stick until you get into an operational squadron, and once your call sign sticks, well your call sign becomes your name...
I'm not kidding, wives call their husbands by their call signs, its weird when you get emails and they said, "Just let me or Ringo know what you prefer!"
So what's Mr's call sign...
Its MOG! He's his own best friend, which is actually perfect...BTW. Some might say my lovely hubby (like other fighter guys) tend to like themselves...alittle bit.
But why MOG?? Well if some of you have followed the Jetplanes awhile (or read my Twitter) you'd know that Mr. Jetplane has had some issues with air sickness in the jet. The John Candy character in Spaceballs (which I hope you all new that the clip of above was from Spaceballs, because if you don't...well we won't even go there) is named Barf, and since Barf is too obvious and been done before, they are calling him MOG.
Yes my hubby, MOG...
He's flying nights again this week and its painful for everyone involved.
Here's to a week of low drama and plenty of sleep...

Good Friday Morning Everyone....
Sorry I've been a bad blogger these past 2 weeks. Things have been quite hectic for the Jetplanes'. Mr. Jetplane started night flying this week and will continue next week. So my sleep schedule has been put into a 'tail spin', so to speak. Also, work has been kicking my butt recently, and it doesn't appear like its going to let up.
So needless to say, blogging hasn't been on the top of the priority list, and for that I do apologize. Today's Pug Friday, I think exemplifies how I have felt this week. With all the life chaos (work, AF, move to Idaho, family matters, the kitchen being tiled this week, etc.) I would prefer to just lay down and relax.
And a big thank you for all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for all those affected by the crash out of Pcola. Mr. Jetplane knew the civilian pilot, he had flown with him on a number of occasions. And to clarify, even though it says he is a civilian, he is a retired Lt. Cmdr. The pilots of that training aircraft are generally high ranking retirees. The training that is being conducted is for the navigators, that is also why there were 2 students on board. The instructor switches off between the two students.
Its yet another tragedy in our aviation community. Its very sad, but it is reminder that life is short. We need to enjoy it to the fullest and never forget to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. My husband never leaves this house (no matter the time) without a hug and kiss, a be safe, and I love you. We never know when it could be our last.

There has unfortunately been a crash out of NAS Pcola. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected. VT 86, the squadron that the plane was with, was Mr. Jetplane's final squadron in Pcola before he graduated. He flew in the type of aircraft that crashed.
Training is a dangerous business, yesterday was just another reminder of that.
Please keep their families and friends in your prayers...

Don't Follow this Yellow Brick Road

Good Morning...and Happy Monday?!? Yeah, that's a question I'm not quite sure if its happy or not. I hope everyone had a glorious Easter weekend. The Jetplanes enjoyed the sunshine, yard work, and food with friends. But one thing that put a serious damper on the weekend...
POLLEN!!! Its everywhere! And when I say EVERYWHERE I mean EVERYWHERE!!
You walk in some yards and your shoes turn yellow. Our driveway has a river of yellow on it. People's cars are covered with a 1/8" of yellow powder. We had to close our windows because our leather chair and ottoman were covered in yellow dust, and I don't even want to tell you how disgusting it was when I swept the living room floor yesterday.
We've been told the streets on base will turn yellow...Yeah...That's not a Yellow Brick Road I'm interested in.... especially when I woke up this morning...hardly being able to breathe...ugh...
I'm ready to click my heels and take me away from this...
