Coming up to breathe....

Hello all! I'm still at my parents house and enjoying some days off.

My mom is incredible, she's in high spirits and insisted on having Thanksgiving at our house. With the help of some wonderful relatives, Thanksgiving went off without a hitch.

This morning at 2:30am the Mr. left my parents house to drive to STL to head back to Texas. I miss him already. It was great to get to see him for a couple days, but its never enough.

And we finally saw Twilight on Friday afternoon. As you may know we both read the books and waited to see it together. It was OK. Cedric Diggory (Rob Patterson) won me over. I'm convinced he can be Edward. But the actress that plays Bella annoys the crap out of me. Also, the actor that plays Jacob, while very cute I'm not won over. Also, I didn't like the actors that played his friends. These "boys" are supposed to turn into werewolves. I'm not convinced.

I also had problems with a lot of the actors selected for the movie. A couple of other things, I understand you made this movie on the cheap. But seriously, you're going to gross a ridiculous amount of money so please, please, please, make the special effects better. Edward sweating glitter was horrible. The transformations into the werewolves better not look stupid.

Pug Lovin'

This is a scheduled post, I couldn't leave you all hanging while I'm off enjoying the holiday with the fam and the Mr.

I thought this is was way too cute to pass up. I feel like we might be interuppting something...

Bringing it on HOME

Yeah... I leave this afternoon for Illinois. I'm trying to get out of work early today to hit the road early, we'll see how that works out for me.

So I wanted to leave you all with a couple of things.

1. THANK YOU ALL so much for all the love and support you have given me the past few days. Hugs and kisses to you all.

2. Thank you to Mrs. Stilettos for the lovely award. I hope to blog about it soon.

3. Did anyone watch the reunion show for Housewives of ATL, that was ridiculous and amazing all at the same time. I also watch the premiere of the OC ones as well. I think I saw Gretchen and her hubby on an episode of some show on HGTV. They redid their backyard. I never forget a face, and since I do recall noticing the age difference, I'm pretty sure I'm right. I'm assuming its before he was diagnosed b/c he wasn't as thin.

4. The Mr. is a new lover of Black Friday. He went to Circuit City last year and got us GPS systems for our cars. This year he wants to go to Best Buy, we'll see if he wants to get up.

5. The Mr. and I are going to see Twilight on Friday afternoon. I got him to read all the books. We both don't think the movie looks all that good, so we're going in with lower expectations, hopefully those are met.

6. I am craving mini, bite size pecan pies that are bought to our house by my mom's cousin.

7. My crazy mother, is still having Thanksgiving at our house with all our family. My step dad called everyone before her surgery and said we weren't having it. My mom called and bitched everyone out and said she'd be pissed if everyone didn't come. Luckily, they are all bringing 80% of the stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm going to have a scheduled post on Friday for all you Puggie Lovers out there.

Things to be Thankful For...

My mom went to the Dr today for her follow up appointment with the plastic surgeon. While she was there she found out the pathology reports from the lymph nodes that they had removed. They removed 8 from one side and 10 from the other. I'll be honest, I didn't even know you had that many lymph nodes.

Well GREAT news! They all came back negative. The cancer had not spread and it looks like we have caught it early. She won't have to do any radiation and the chemo should not be too bad.

YEAH!!! This is me doing the happy dance....

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it all means so much more. This year we have something to be truly thankful for.

In love with love...

I love being in love, its probably one of my favorite things. And I love watching girly, sappy, funny, cute, love stories. And one of my very favorites quotes from a movie is this....

"I love that you get cold when it is 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Do you know what it's from? Its not too hard to figure out.

This movie reminds me of me and the Mr. We are truly best friends before anything else. We can get on each other's nerves, push each others buttons, and pick on each other like no one else could. But that's what makes us...us... and us... if I do say so myself is pretty damn special.

And I can't wait to see him around 1am Thursday morning when I meet him at my parents house.

You got the RIGHT Stuff

Was I the only one that got excited to hear them go into the Right Stuff....

I'll admit, their comeback freaks me out a little but, it must be true love because I sat there and sang it all word for word. Milo thought I was crazy....

Do you think Donnie can talk his brother Mark into a comeback.... now that's something I'd really like to see...

Its all happening....

To quote one of my favorite movies Almost Famous.... Its all happening.....

In a couple days I'll be back home in Illinois getting to see my family and the Mr. And I am so freaking excited that I got my suitcase out today to start packing. That's saying something, because I am notorious for packing the night before. Not this time, I'm going to do my best to get out of work no later than 2pm and be on the road by 3pm which would get me home to Illinois around 1am. Yeah, 10 hour drive suck, but gotta do it.
In a few more days.... it will be some of this....

Check, Check, Check it out...

Michelle at Oeil Photography was featured yesterday by Southern Weddings. Michelle is a great photographer who I blogged about previously. She was living in P'cola, recently moved to Jacksonville, and is Navy wife.

Check her out.....

P.S. she travels for wedding. Congrats Michelle.

Pug Lovin

Happy Friday everyone! I don't know about you all but, I'm so freaking happy its Friday. This week has been miserable, and I need to relax. And it means that next week is a short week and I get to go home and see my mom and my hubby. Yeah!!!

But as promised last week, Fridays are dedicated to my lil 4 legged loves, Pugs.

The only thing I love more than pugs are pug puppies, they melt my heart. And it makes me want to run out and get one.... But I know I can't...

Here's my lil hunk of lovin Milo when he was a puppy. This is the first time I brought him to my parents' house. He loved laying in Honey's (our lab's) food bowl. She didn't like it too well. She never had that motherly extinct and never was able to be bred. But she finally took to him after the whole weekend of him wanting to love up on her.

Honey is no longer with us, and this picture brings a tear to my eye every time I see it. I'm thinking about having it blown up and framed for my mom for Christmas.

Don't forget....

To enter my giveaway. You only have a few more days to enter and win these adorable glasses.

I drank a bottle, yes a bottle, of my $5 champagne last night while eating dinner and watching television, out of my very own set of these glasses. They are adorable and a lot bigger than I had originally anticipated. I felt like Kristen Dunst from Marie Antoinette, except I wasn't married off to a child prince and executed... But it was still lovely. And I was able to get a good night's sleep.

Thank you's all around

I talked to my mom a couple of times tonight, she sounded very tired and a little drugged up, but everything seems to be okay, well as ok, as it can be.

I wanted to say thank you all again for all the support I've received this past couple of days. Its truly amazing how much strangers can prop you up in a time like this. I've felt like I'm kinda on an island to myself here, with living 10 hours away from home and the Mr. in Texas, its been great to feel the support from you all.

And a HUGE thank you to Gwen from Confession of a Control Freak. She has a wonderful blog and I love reading all the sweet comments she leaves me. I'm also so happy that her beloved cat is back home where he belongs. She bestowed upon me my 2nd award, and its too cute for words.

You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs in a post.

1. Muffy - I love reading her blog, and I can't wait to learn all about her upcoming wedding plans.
2. Some Like it Southern - She's become my new blogging friend. And I excited to see her upcoming lil baby.

3. Nina - I find her blog to be funny, informative, and I know we all can't wait till she's back on the Internet. I also can't believe that we're both from the area. It truly is a small, small world.

4. Chic Runner - I've just started keeping up with her blog, and have enjoyed all her comments she leaves me. I wish deep down I was a runner.... unfortunately as I've said before, I am not.

5. Dugout Daisy - I love hearing her talk about how much she adores Twilight. I'm so jealous she's already seen it.

You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions in the post.

1. I'm addicted to shopping, shopping for anything. I love to buy clothes, shoes, dog toys, food, cleaning products, flowers.... you name it I enjoy buying it.

2. I'm addicted to television. Project Runway, Top Chef, Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and the list goes on.

3. I'm addicted to caffeine, but I don't drink coffee. I will admit that I have drastically cut down my intake in the past 2 years. But I do have to have 1 caffeine drink a day, or I get a headache. I drink a Sugar Free Red Bull almost every morning while sitting at my office.

4. I'm addicted to Banana Republic. And BR sending my coupons every month for $10 to $20 off as a thank you for putting some damage onto my BR Luxe card, doesn't help.

5. I'm addicted to shoes and cardigans. I love shoes. I love cardigans. I don't even know how many I have. Its a problem.

You must copy and paste the rules and the instructions below in the post.

Instructions: On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well. To add the award to your post, simply right-click, save image, then "add image" it in your post as a picture so your winners can save it as well. To add it to your sidebar, add the "picture" gadget. Also, don't forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by emailing them or leaving a comment on their blog.

Update!

Well first things first, you can see I have gotten a face lift this afternoon.... More to come on that later. Thanks Krystyn!!

My mom is out of surgery and everything looks good. The surgeon said that there were no surprises and she's in recovery. My step-dad and brother should get to see her in about 45 minutes. She'll be released late tomorrow. I'll keep you all updated.

Thank you again for the outpouring of love and support, I GREATLY appreciate it.

xoxo - Mrs. Jetplane (that's my new name!!, love it)

Today everything seems too real

"A woman is like a tea bag, you can not tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water."

I spoke to my mom this morning at 6am before she headed into the hospital. They stayed the night a the hotel associated with the cancer center. She was in good spirits.

I hate that I'm not there, but will be there next week.

Thank you all so much for you prayers, support, and kind words. She has surgery at 8:30 this morning, and it should take 4-6 hours.

Mom Update

I haven't blogged too much about this lately, because I hate to be a Debbie Downer.

My mom is going to St. Louis this evening and having a double mastectomy tomorrow morning.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I'm cautiously optimistic, because it appears we've caught the cancer early.

Due to our family history and the way the cancer has formed, she has chosen to go the route of having both breasts removed. I 100% support that decision, and while it may seem extreme to some, I think its the only reasonable option.

The Mr. is sweet...

...when he wants to be and since we've been apart more than we've been together since getting married, I think he's been putting in quite an effort.

Before he left for T-38 training in August I made him a lil flip book. This book consisted of note card (1/2 size ones) that I had punched holes in and tied off with a ribbon. I had 1 note card for each day until the end of the year. Each note card had the date and then "I love you because..." and each day has something completely different.

Some are totally random like.. I love you because you like to watch Project Runway with me and I love you because we both love Dr. Pepper. (Yes totally random) Others are I love you because you know everything about me and never judged me, I love you because you're my best friend, and I love you because I know you'll be a wonderful father.

So what has the Mr. recently started doing..... He's crafting haikus and text messaging them to me. They are hilarious and cheesy and I adore them...

I miss him like crazy and can't wait to see him on Thanksgiving. He's meeting me up in Illinois to spend time with my family.

Fashion Help Needed

I need some fashion advice here. I just bought this dress from the BR outlet. Its off white with navy, blue, and red. I want to wear tights and knee high boots, but I don't know which ones and what color tights would be best. I thought maybe the lighter brown boots with navy tights, but I'm not sure....

So your input is greatly needed.

Update - got a comment saying I need a black boot round toe with heel. I do have a pair, but I was hoping to maybe wear my new black riding boots inside of the ones with a heel. See below. Thanks for the advice.

And, thank you all so much for entering my giveaway. But keep it up girls, you have until Sunday at 12am.

A thought to start your morning....

And don't forget to enter my 200th Post Giveaway I blogged about yesterday.

A Makeover in the Making

So I am currently working on makeover for this lil blog of mine. Over the past couple of months, blogging and blog stalking have become quite a hobby for me.... with the Mr. away someone has some free time on her hands, doesn't she??

That being said I thought I would update by blog roll, so please let me know if you would like to be added.

Additionally, I've received a couple of questions here and there. I'd be happy to address any and all questions, you ladies have about the Mr. and Mrs.

Please feel free to ask away and I'll answer them all to the best of my abilities.

And.... Drum roll please..... My next post will be my 200th post. I can't believe it! And to honor the 200th post I'm going to be hosting my 1st giveaway. You hear that people.... I'm having a GIVEAWAY!

Pug Lovin'

So I've decided to do a post every Friday dedicated purely to pugs. I love them. I adore them.

So granted this is coming a little after Halloween but oh well... It was too cute to pass up.

Thank being said, I am starting to collect pics of pugs. I'm also happy to accept pug pictures from any of you out there in the blogging world.

Mrs. Newlywed, my fellow pug lover... might you have a picture or two of your baby? If so, we'd love to see it.

Here's my lil cutie pie the day of the wedding. He wanted to ride with us girls on the way to the church in the limo. He knew something was going down and he didn't want to miss something. The driver had rolled out red carpet and once someone open the back door at my parents' house he ran out, up the red carpet, and jumped into the car. He wasn't getting out. The driver closed the door and he was a happy lil camper in the air conditioned car.

Top Chef = E. Coli ??

OMG, and just after the season started last night...

It appears that Top Chef contestants gave out food at a street fair, and the NYC Health officials have reported cases from people who had eaten at their booth.

24 people went to the hospital and 3 people died. The outbreak has been traced back to the Top Chef kitchen and production has been shut down.

"It seems that some of contestants may have cut a few corners in the 'Make a meal out of raw meat in 8 minutes' quickfire challenge," said co-host and head judge Tom Colicchio. "In hindsight, we probably should have more thoroughly checked their work before letting them serve it at a Brooklyn street fair."

When asked for comment, Padma Lakshmi responded,
"All I have to say is that anyone convicted of spreading E. Coli will likely find themselves in danger of elimination at our next judges' table."

Nice Padma.... I prefer Mrs. Joel to you anyway...

UPDATE: This may or may NOT be true. I've look into it further, and not found alot of information that isn't citing the same article.

The Mr. coming through for me as always...

He just called and bitched to the credit card company and they removed the late fee they put on our account.... Thank you Mr.

They told me, even though the account was shut off for 2 weeks due to fraudulent activity, and I just received my new account number on Thursday night in the mail, had NO access to the account because we hadn't been issued a new number, and set up the funds transfer for a payment to the credit card on Friday.... the jerk on the phone made it sound like I was lying and making it up that I had paid my bill....

We I did thank you very much... the money came out of my account, Regions said they sent it to you, and its definitely not my fault... give me my $39.00 back...

Well the Mr. set the world right again... He called and threaten to pull the account that he's had for over 5 years, and never been late on a single payment...

They apologized for being jerks and removed the late fee. Good thing, because the Mr. loves that Chicago Cubs card...
** This photo cracks me up. The Mr. really wanted to get to lift his leg in a photo. He's such a cheeseball. Photo from Oeil Photography.

Wedding For Sale

I'm heading back up to Illinois for Thanksgiving and picking up most of the stuff from the wedding. Its my intention to try to recoup some of the cost. I bought all the vases, candlestick holders, etc. etc. etc.

I do plan on keeping some of the stuff, but I do need to get rid of alot of it. I'll do a detailed post to see if anyone is interested, but I think I'll also need some pointers for selling things on Craigslist and Ebay.

For now here's a look at some of the stuff that will be up for sale. Here is a look of it all as we were beginning to get it all together in the days before the wedding.
Here are my table numbers that I made with love.... Half are yellow with silver and the other half are green and silver. I have a weird commitment to these, I don't think I'll sell them and since they are pretty specific, no one probably wants them.

Here it is coming together late the night before the wedding.

Sorry, I want to keep most of the apothecary jars... I have developed a love for them...

Being Sucked In....

So, as you may know by now, I love me some television. I always have and always will, its an addiction, and I don't plan to try to get rid of it. Its a hobby of mine, and that's how I like to classify it.

Anyway - in order to manage this addiction I take certain precautions. I generally don't accept new shows into my viewing habits. It gets difficult and my DVR only records so many shows at once. Plus, I prefer to watch shows on the DVR b/c it takes less than half the time and if you're planning on watching a couple of shows and get to bed by 10:30pm you better be efficient.
FYI- I do have somewhat of a life, but with the Mr. away I do have more time to kill. Also, I do some of the DVR watching on nights when I don't like many of the shows on TV.

Therefore, in order to add a new show to the weekly line up it must be certain criteria.

1. Another show must be going off the air - cancelled, season finale, a re-run that night, etc.

2. I must watch 1 episode and be immediately drawn in

3. The Mr. must be a fav of it as well. (ok #3 is so, so but generally we like the same shows, or at least I get him to like my shows)

Ok so what are the new shows I'm feeling...

1. Sons of Anarchy on FX. It dark, crude, and I love it. FX has some great programming. And I think motorcycles are totally hot. The Mr. sold his this spring, we're getting a Harley when he makes Captain.

2. True Blood - HBO - I'll admit I was a little wishy washy on this after 1 episode, but when Mad Men ended a couple of weeks ago I decided to give it a shot.

3. 17 Kids and Counting - TLC - OMG I just sit in pure amazement of these people. First physically giving birth to that many children, then home schooling them all, and just paying the bills. Its mind blowing to me. Granted, my religious and lifestyle beliefs are extremely different then theirs but more power to them.

But what am I even more excited about..... Top Chef premieres this week. OMG I freaking love Top Chef and so does the Mr.

A Day to Honor

Today is Veterans' Day and I'll be honest with you, up until the love of my life became an officer in the USAF, I don't think I honored wholeheartedly as I do now.

It means something very different to me now then it did before. I am honored to be the wife of an aviator. I see how much hard work and dedication the Mr. has put into his training thus far, and to know once we get to NC its going to get even tougher, makes me so incredibly proud of him.

That being said, our journey thus far, doesn't compare to the sacrifice that other men, women and their families have given to our country. We have not had to experience a deployment. And while I so grateful for that, everyday that he's away at training, I remind myself to stop feeling sorry for myself about our current situation. Its preparing me for that deployment that will be coming.
So for today and everyday I want to say thank you to all that have served or currently serving our country proudly, and thank you to every family that has stood behind them.

Pay It Forward....

Thank you so much to the 2 that have responded thus far. I GREATLY appreciate it. I need one more lil lady to participate, so I'm not a blogging loser..... So please check the post from earlier today, and add a comment...

Hope all is well with everyone, its been quite a Monday, but its almost over.

And - I have, what I consider a GREAT giveaway for my 200th post. I absolutely adore them. I'll be giving you extra submissions if you are a follower to my blog and/or repost my giveaway on your blog. So that post should be happening... this week. Yeah, I'm so excited for my 200th post. Wow, with the hubby away, I see where my time is getting spent... Ha ha...

Making your Monday lil bit brighter....

Good Morning and a happy Monday to everyone...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm certainly dragging some a$$ this morning. I'm waiting for my Sugar Free Red Bull to get cold, so I can wake up and take on this Monday morning with vigor. Ok maybe not with vigor, but with my eyes open.
I was lucky enough to get to participate in the lovely Nina's Pay It Forward and now its my duty to Pay it Forward as well. So now that it looks like I may actually have a couple of readers out there in the blogosphere, I would hope, beg, and maybe plead that someone (ok 3 people) want to participate.

The "rules" state that the exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and pay it forward.

Here's how it works: I will send a lil something to the first 3 blog owners who post a comment on this entry. In turn, those three will post this information and pick 3 people they want to send something to and so on.

In order to make things a little cheerier this morning, in your comment, please write about what was the very 1st thing that made you smile this morning (hopefully you've already smiled this morning).

I'll go first. Well that's my lil Milo (who sleeps with me when the Mr. is away), crawling up and snuggling with me when I hit the snooze button. We both didn't want to get up.

Unfortunately, due to postage costs, I can only pay it forward within the United States. If you are interested in participating, be one of the first 3 blog owners {must have a blog in order to Pay-It-Forward} to leave a comment!

The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. Just a gift that will make the person smile.

And a Very Happy Monday to you all...

Bad Blogger...

Yes I am. I have a lot to write about, but unfortunately I have been pre-occupied with watching football and cleaning out my closet. Doing my closet takes forever, especially because I get distracted quite easily. And I close Colts game, will most definitely do that. Way to go Colts!!!

Anyway....things that I will be writing about soon...

1. My Pay it Forward that I'm taking part in thanks to Nina
2. My new television loves
3. My upcoming giveaway for my 200th Post
4. Update on the Mr.
5. Recap of dog sitting, Walle is still with us until Tuesday.

Hope to get to all these in the next couple of days....

Now back to that closet of mine... next its onto the bathroom linen closet (aka my shoe closet), and then to the workout room's closet (aka my dress/suit/holiday decor closet).

I have a crap load of clothes, shoes, etc. But I am weeding a lot of it out before we leave for NC, its going to Yard Sale time when the Mr. comes home from TX.

Hope everyone's enjoying what's left of their weekend.

By the way, I didn't go to the outlet mall, I talked myself off that ledge yet again.

Discount Diva

Here is my latest clothing purchase from Target. I think its adorable. And its only $29.99.

I can't wait to pair it with a black turtleneck, tights, and knee high boots. Cuteness...

It does look a little short on the model, but I am only 5'2" so its longer on me...

Things we do for friends....

This weekend, well actually Friday - Tuesday, I'm dog sitting for a friend of ours. Their dog is a rat terrier puppy, Wall-e, yes that's right, named after the movie. No I didn't participate in the naming.

Anyway, he is a very active lil thing and already pooped on the kitchen floor. Him and Milo have finally calmed down and appear to be somewhat ok with each other. But I'm pretty sure Milo is wondering if this lil "thing" is staying at our house forever to replace Charlie.

Our friend S, who shares the dog with her boyfriend J, drove up to Columbus, MS to visit him while he is there for T-38 training. (This is the training that the Mr. finished in October)

Even though I really didn't want to dogsit this weekend, I do totally owe S for all the help she gave me and the Mr. every time she has taken care of our boys. During our honeymoon, she lived at our house to take care of the boys.

Yeah Me...

Today I got my monthly commission check. It might be time to help the economy... at the outlet mall.

But first a chunk of it went to the credit card. Still paying off some wedding related purchases, the new laptop, and an occasional clothing purchase.... shh...

A First Date I'd Rather Forget

Well here the post I was talking about yesterday....

I had moved to Indy and had been there a couple of months. I met this guy ( I don't remember his name) at a bar downtown with a friend of mine from work. He seemed nice enough, we hung out for a couple of hours, and I gave him my number. He lived in Louisville and was in Indy for a friends bachelor party. We talked on the phone a couple of times. He was coming up to Indy the weekend before Thanksgiving to visit his younger sister that went to Butler. So we planned a date. He was all excited about the date because he insisted it be a total surprise.

FYI - I'm not a big fan of surprises. I felt the need to tell him that a couple of times. I was warning him, more than anything.

So that Friday night, he comes to my apartment to pick me up. He gets to my place, and we decide that we're going to head over to the Cheesecake Factory and then off to my surprise. I'm thinking... so far so good....

It was cold out so he had left his car running. He opens the door for me and I'm overcome by first how freaking hot the inside of the vehicle was but also the horrid Christmas music that was blaring. Ok, what is a 27 year old man doing listening to Christmas music.

I'm begging him to tell me was this surprise is. He says "I got us tickets!"

"Tickets, what kind of tickets?" I say. "Are we going to a sporting event, the movies, a play?"

He says, "No not exactly..."

"Ok, well can you please turn off this music. I honestly can't stand Christmas music."

"Oh, really?", he says. "Who doesn't like Christmas music?"

"Me I guess."

We get to dinner and start to order. I'm still begging him to tell me what the surprise is.

"Well, I got us tickets to the Rockettes Christmas Special. Don't worry its going to be great!" he smiles.

I quickly shot up my hand... "glass of Pinot Grigo please".... (keep em coming.... I thought to myself)

So we headed to the Murat, a theater in downtown Indy. I was half drunk and sat through the whole ordeal, counting the minutes till its over. Granted I do love musicals and plays, but not a Xmas show, especially when it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet...

So needless to say, that relationship didn't go anywhere from there.

If you want to impress a girl like me, definitely don't take me to a Christmas Special.

But... the first 3 guys I dated in Indy all took me to Cheesecake Factory on our 1st dates... now that's a way to this girl's heart...

This Morning...

Here is a snippet of the conversation btwn me and the Mr. (on the phone obviously since we've been apart for 3 weeks now)

Mr.: "How's work going?"
Me: "Fine. Its work."
Mr.: "I hear ya."
Me: "Can I ask you a question?"
Mr. "What?"
Me: "Can I be a stay at home wife?"
Mr: "What?"
Me. "STAY AT HOME WIFE!"

Needless to say, he didn't think it was a good idea.

Its beginning to look ....

a lot like Christmas.... every where you go....

And I do love me some Christmas. I love shopping, decorating, eating, visiting with family, the snow (:( none in FL), etc, etc.

But I do have to come clean, there is one thing that I HATE about Christmas. Christmas music, I hate it, I loathe it, I down right can't stand it.

Now, I do like Christmas songs at church, or a little here and there, but I will not and cannot listen to them in car, I will not cannot listen to them in a bar (ha ha... Dr. Seussin' there)...

Sorry to all you lovers of the songs, they make my ears bleed. With the exception of a couple of songs that bring me straight back to my childhood and to my grandmother's house. (I loved the Pound Puppies Christmas Album and Alvin and the Chipmunks, but that even has its limitations.)

It probably comes from my mom, who plays Christmas music all the time. I think it may have had the opposite reaction for me.
I will post a hilarious story about a horrible first date I had when I had first moved to Indy. Believe it or not, it involves my hatred of Christmas music. To be Continued....

Pretty lil things

Oh how I love you Pottery Barn. You make me day dream about being the Hostess with the Mostest. You make me want to buy everything.
I find these Art Nouveau Double Old-Fashioned glasses adorable. I can imagine have cocktails and appetizers with friends with the lovely glasses. They sell for $39.00 for a set of 4.
Being the champagne lover that I am, I love these Marie Antoinette Coup Stemware. I would love to cheers to NYE's drinking out of these cute lil numbers. I definitely makes me think of the movie Marie Antoinette. They sell for a set of 4 for $28.00.

Wow, its probably a little too early for a drink, right? Its 5 O'Clock somewhere....

Excitement Level - HIGH

In my fantasy world, I'm an interior decorator or designer. However, that is not the case and I must live this fantasy through television and Top Design is one of my favs.

The season finale is tonight. I love all 3 that are left, and I am extremely excited to see to the outcome.

To quote the great Jonathan Adler (from last season) - "See ya later, decorator!"

I bit the bullet

I bought some Xmas decorations. I know, I know, I held it in, but I went to Target this week to take a look at the decorations. I held off a lot of them, but saw these stockings and had to buy them. They match the new color scheme I'm going for and I had to have them. I bought one for me and one for the Mr. I'm thinking about looking for M & C for the doggies too, but we'll see.

I also stopped by Michaels and bought a couple of things that were on sale. A lot of their decor is 40-50% and the Xmas ribbon is 50% off. I also picked up some pumpkins to paint off-white for 70% off. I refused to pay full price for those puppies.

I hope to do some crafting this week or weekend and I'll keep you posted.

I get by with a little help from my friends...

Well hello there... and a very Happy Halloween to you too.

This greeted me Monday in my mailbox. Thank you so much Mandy. I really appreciate it. The inside of the card said, "Happy Halloweenie!". She said she saw this card, thought it was the Mr. and thought I could use some cheering up since he's gone. And she was right, it brought a big smile to my face.

Thanks again Mandy, I miss you, Dane, and the kiddos. I wish we were going to live closer to each other. But I promise when I go visit Brent sometime in the next 4 months, we'll try to meet up with you guys. Give the spider monkey a hug from me. And I can't believe lil Wyatt is almost 1.

History has been made...

Running just as fast as you can...

Hottie Mr. Ryan Reynolds ran the NYC marathon this past weekend in order to raise funds for Parkinson's Disease.

I think all you crazy people that run marathons are incredible. I hate running, I would only run when being chased, and then it may not even be that fast.

The Mr. completed the Chicago Marathon a couple of years ago. I was and still am incredibly proud of him.

Is it strange?

That I keep having dreams that I'm pregnant? I'm not pregnant, just to put that out there. And while I'm not an expert, I do think that me and the Mr. would probably have to be living in the same state to make this actually happen.

To make things even stranger, in all my dreams I'm pregnant by different people. Sometimes its the Mr. and sometimes its other guys from my past. This journey through Facebook and the ex's is doing some crazy things to my mind.

I'm bumping into sorority sisters I haven't seen in years, and they have kids, one has 5 kids. How on earth, did she find the time to have 5 kids since we graduated college (ok she has 1 year on me, but still), I don't even own a house yet. I have 2 dogs, and that seems like a hassle.

Maybe this is my clock beginning to tick, don't know. We want kids, we do. But is it bad to say that we don't necessarily feel old or mature enough to have kids?

We're almost 30 (ok we're 28, but still) that is almost 30. We've been talking about it more and more, but when we move to NC he'll be intensive 12-14 hours a day training for 9 months. Probably not the best time for a little one. We shall see...

I have a Confession

This may be TMI...

I'm lazy and with the Mr. MIA I don't shave my legs as much as I should.

Ok, I'm wearing a very cute orange, BR wrap dress today. I should of shave my legs this morning, but I didn't. Instead I'm wearing brown tights and brown knee high boots.

Told you I'm lazy.

I'm making great strides in my addiction...

to shopping that is...

I had or still have a 20% off coupon for $100 or more at the BR Outlet store that expires on 11/5. I also have $10 off from my BR Luxe rewards. But I didn't go. I tried to tell myself that I was going to begin Xmas shopping, but then I came to the hard realization that BR, JCrew, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph, have nothing there for anyone but me... Granted I could buy the Mr. some clothes but that's not what he wants for Xmas...

I also stopped myself from going to Target to start buying Xmas decorations.

But, its still calling my name.... I'm choosing to decorate the house this year with silver instead of gold, so I need to buy new stuff. For the past couple of years I've been doing golds, burgundy, greens, purples, and dark blues. I'm changing it up and I need new stuff. I explained to the Mr. that our Xmas color scheme is going to be changing... He wasn't aware that we had a color scheme... I know... I can't believe he didn't realize it either. Shocking..

I've also informed him that when we move to NC we're buying a bigger tree. I prefer fake trees, sorry but that's just me and how I was raised. The tree we have right now, is the 1st tree I had out of college. My parents came to visit me in Indy and bought me a 5ft tree from Target. Its a great lil tree and I'll keep it and use it elsewhere but its not big enough for what I imagine to have in "our house".

When the Wife's Away...

Your husband goes out for Halloween looking like this....

He is the one the far left... this is the costume he came up with in the 10 minutes he was at Wal-Mart.

I've been a bad blogger....

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Mojito Maven. I won some Fabulous gifts, a signed copy of one of my cooking idols, Ms. Giada De Laurentis' Giada's Kitchen and Sprinkles Red Velvet Cupcakes Mix. YUM-O (sorry to mix Food Network icons).

So sorry that I didn't blog about this last week. I read through most of the recipes this weekend. I want to make some of them while the Mr. is gone, so if I totally screw them up, he won't know and I can prefect them before he's back.

Lil Milo is pretty excited about it too if you couldn't tell....

What also makes me weekend a little better... I buy myself a $5 bouquet of spider mums from Wal-Mart. I put them in my Kate Spade Vase that I bought with my free money I got from my Macy's registry.

Shoes, Shirt, Service

Ok, I live in P'cola, and during the summer time you see people going in and out of gas stations without a shirt on (guys only thank god). We also have some friends that lived in Hawaii for quite some time, so they prefer to never wear shirts or shoes, but that's ok, if you're a surfer, with a nice body by the way.

BUT, today last time I checked was November, and granted it is rather warm today, that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear shoes...

Ok, let me back track a little.

I went grocery shopping this morning at Wal-Mart. I was making my way through the aisles, minding my own business then I see a woman with 2 grown ass kids, I mean the boy was probably 10-12 and the girl was a good 14-15, neither of these kids had shoes on....

Oh, but that's not all. At the check out line, I got to stand behind a lovely 40ish woman with 2 small boys around 3-5 yrs that were standing in her shopping cart without shoes on. Then I looked down... this woman wasn't wearing shoes either... Her feet were black. Her boys were horrible, one of them slapped her in the face and she hit him right back. I was totally shocked. She then kept apologizing for how her kids were acting, blaming their poor behavior on a cousin or something.

Wow.... my mind was blown...

Personal Rant.... People when you are at the store, if you use a shopping cart, can you please push it over to the cart caddy. Especially, when its less than 50ft away from where your lazy ass parked you car....

Rant over... back to enjoying my Sunday.

To Quote Ms. Zoe

I DIE, OMG I totally DIE....

As the wife of an aviator, I would LOVE to have a picture like this. Its beautiful, artistic, and totally freaking HOT. The photographer is Jordana with Hazelnut Photography. She recently jumped into photography and her work is lovely. I found Jordana through her personal blog, The Jordana Project several months ago, and have enjoyed seeing her wonderful photography.

You may notice that the lovely couple in the pictures is Miss and Mr. Meatball from Weddingbee. She also has her on personal blog The Broke-Ass Bride.

Note: Ms. Michelle, if we ever get to do my trash the dress, I would love to figure out a way to do some pics with planes.... Maybe the aviation museum on base....
