Is anyone else excited???

My Boys is back tonight on TBS. I loved this show last season, and can't wait till tonight. Maybe because its 'set' in Chicago and they love the Cubs (Mr. Jetplane's reason for liking the show) or maybe its because I totally relate to being 'one of the guys'. I love this show, and highly recommend it to everyone.

There was quite a cliff hanger at the end of Season 1....

Mrs. Jetplane loves Ruffles..

Thank you all so much for all the compliments on my yellow dress. I love it too. I'm very much going through a ruffle period. I'm actually wearing a ruffled collar Jcrew dress to work today.

To address some of your questions..
Yes it is BCBG. I purchased mine at my local Dillard's on Friday while they were having a 30% off EVERYTHING sale. I went in to buy some make up and came out with makeup and a dress, oh well. I really like the dress but here's a couple of issues.

1. It is very low cut in the front. I don't have much of a chest, but was concerned about the bra I would wear.
2. The cut is a little low in the underarms... also a concern with a bra.
3. While is it not "see-through" and has a liner, the fabric is still very thin and luckily I packed smart and bought several pairs of underwear and spandx if necessary.

But all that being said, I still love the dress. And I'm so glad you all did too.

Here's part of our crew with the bride. Everyone, excluding Mr. Jetplane, attended the same college. Please excuse the water spots on my dress, someone dropped her fork into her lap during dinner and her husband was rushed to the bar to bring some water so she could clean it. No worries... crisis was averted.

** Disclaimer** Pictures were stolen from someone's Facebook.

And finally.... THANK YOU to all who have recently given me awards. I promise that I will post them soon. I'm sorry, I'm a bad lil blogger. I love you all and I deeply appreciate any and everyone that reads and actually like my lil blog.

XOXO

Quite a few... tears and glasses of champagne

I think this picture shows you exactly what Mrs. Jetplane did at the wedding this weekend. It was a wonderful event and I'm so glad we were able to make it. Rain or Shine, we were attending... and we encountered plenty of rain. Trying to get out of Florida was a little tough, roads were flooded and traffic diverted, but the Jetplanes soldiered on.
I hope to post a couple more pictures later this week, but right now I wanted to share with you one of the sweetest wedding speeches I have ever heard.
The groom's father got up to tell us, just a little bit about his son. He's a kind man, a promising young attorney, and a rabid UGA fan. He loves his family and his wife, but most importantly he has a big heart.
The father continued... one year the night before Easter the groom's older sister decided at 12 she was too old for an Easter basket and wanted to stay up and help her parents get the gifts ready for the other, younger kids. R, the groom, got up early, so excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought him. He followed the trail of jelly beans from his room to the Easter baskets but was shocked to see that one Easter basket was missing... his older sister's. He didn't want her to feel left out. So, he found a basket around the house and took out over half of his goodies to make her an Easter basket...
Its that not the sweetest thing you've ever heard? I started crying....

Jetplanes are back...

We arrived home earlier this afternoon from ATL and we had a great time. We drank WAY too much and had a wonderful time with all our friends. More info to follow....
I'll leave you with one picture. All I have to say is I'm in need of a tan, dropping a few lbs, and the weather did NOTHING for my hair, so I apologize.
Good night to all... Wait! This is my 400th Post, holy crap...

These are the days to remember...

This weekend one of my lovely friends is getting hitched. And I am beyond excited for her and for me.... because I get to see everyone. Lou and I have been friends since freshman year of college. We were in the same pledge class and lived in the same dorm. I attended my 1st 'frat' party with her, met my 1st 'college' boyfriend with her, and got into all sorts of fun and trouble with her. I love her to death and I'm beyond thrilled for her and her soon to be hubby.

Now I'm not the most southern person she knows.... that's an inside joke b/c I'm from Southern Illinois and she's from the Northern Suburbs of Chicago. She always told me I'm the most southern person she knew... well know she's married a true southern man, graduate of UGA, and has southern accent and everything... ha ha.... I think its too funny and I remind her of it all the time.

Can't wait to see everyone this weekend. Jill... if you are reading this, I am bringing my laptop and video from my wedding. BP is hilarious and you have to see it.

Enjoy your weekend... I know I will...

*Pics are from our Vegas adventure in celebration of The Jetplanes' impeding wedding... It was a crazy fun weekend.

**These are the Days- was our sorority song... extra special shout out there...

Sorry to interrupt your puggie pleasures...

But with the craziness of the past week, I haven't had time to organize the honorable mentions for Pugapalooza and set up the voting. I promised to get this all set up by next week. But in its place here's a little puggie lovin Milo style...
These pictures were taken on our way home from Illinois on Tuesday. It was quite a trip with 2 dogs and luggage, in my lil Jeep Liberty.

I promise for more Pugapalooza to come....

XOXO

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

The Jetplanes are settling down as much as we can. Yesterday, Mr. Jetplane calls me to tell me that he is going to make dinner. To that I ask... "Well what are you planning to make? We have no food in our house right now."

Mr.: "I know. I'm not sure. What do we have?"
Me: "I think we have a box of chicken nuggets, lots of frozen veggies, rice, mac and cheese, soup. But I had soup and a sandwich for lunch, so I don't want them."
Mr: sulking.... since he is all Mr. Healthy eater... "UGH... I had soup and a sandwich too...whatever..."
Me: "Well you could go to the store?"
Mr.: "I'll make what we have..."

Fast forward to my drive home from work...
Mr "Where are you? Dinner will be ready in 43 seconds."
Me "I'm driving home, I'll be home in about 5-10 minutes. What did you make?"
Mr "What you told me to make... by the way we each only get 3 chicken nuggets..."

I arrived home to a lovely meal of 3 chicken nuggets, Velveeta shells and cheese (2%), and broccoli. We drank lovely sugar free Strawberry Crystal Light.

Someone needs to go to the store... I have a feeling it will be me.

Dog Owners Beware...

If you are an owner of a dog that belongs to a 'dangerous breed' category and you also have a small child please take this as a warning.

Don't leave your dog with the child unattended under any circumstances.

Only a little moment was enough for the following to happen.

MIL Jetplane sent this to me earlier today, since we are the proud owner of a big ol American Bulldog, Charlie. Yes, Mrs. Jetplane has 2 dogs, and the other one isn't a pug. Now, the Mr. is back home so is Charlie...

I'm back... as much as I can be...

We arrived back in Florida early this morning and we both have to work today.

Its going to be a long day, that's for sure.

Its been a very hard past few days, but with Mr. Jetplane by my side, it made it all a little easier. He wasn't going to go with me, because of Charlie and his new job he had to start on Monday. After much tears, and a little yelling he was in the car for the 10 hour journey to my Midwestern hometown. All of that is a story for another time, but one I think could be worth telling.

Anyway, funerals bring out the best and the worst in people and this occasion was no different. I come from a very blended and slightly crazy family and that makes for chaos in situations like this.

And to make everything a little worse, my Grandma R passed away the day before the anniversary of my Grandma N (13 years), my mom's mom. Her death 13 years ago, during my junior year of high school, changed my life forever. But that too, my fine readers is another story for another day.

Grandma R was a wonderful lady, that was full of life, sass, and was NEVER at a loss for words. She told you exactly how she felt, and that was that. She will be greatly missed.

Thank you all again for all the lovely thoughts and prayers. All are greatly appreciated. Now that Mr. Jetplane is home, he's really trying to get a hold of and understand this whole blogging thing... I received a package in the mail from a lovely blogger and I tried to explain to him why, and he looked at me like I had a 3rd eye... Oh well, in due time he'll understand it...

Thank you's all around

Mr. Jetplane and I arrived back in So. Il last night with both dogs in toe, its been quite an adventure so far.

I'm zoning out this afternoon through blogging, NCAA, food, etc.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful thoughts and prayers. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

Mrs. Jetplane heading home...

My step grandmother passed away this evening and I have to head home tomorrow. She was admitted to the hospital earlier this week and took a turn for the worse this afternoon.

I'm not sure Mr. Jetplane will be able to come home with me or not, since he has to start a new 'job' on Monday.

I may be MIA for a few days.

Its times like these I wish we lived a little closer than 10 hours away.

We're going to take a walk on the beach tomorrow morning with the dogs and then I'm going to head home.

XOXO

Pug of the Week 5

Good Morning to all and a very Happy Friday. And since it is Friday, it means that is time to name the next finalist for Pugapalooza. Today, I am announcing the final finalist for Pugapalooza, and next week I will also show you all the honorable mentions. I was over whelmed with the entries, and its been very hard to narrow them down. All the puggies are too cute for words, and I've tried to select some pug puppies as well as older pugs to spread the love around.

The week's finalist is the extremely cute Buster.

I just adore the birthmark on his little nose. Buster is the proud doggie of Meaghan at Grable Tales. Please head over to their blog and give them some love today.

Buster, like most pugs, can give you a look that is truly priceless. I look at him and he reminds me of a lil man sitting there asking you, "Excuse me, but why are you taking my picture..."

As you know by now, I have a deep love for all things pugs, and I hope in these few short weeks of Pugapalooza, we crazy pug lovers, have been able to successfully recruit you all to our side.

Ms. Meaghan and Mr. Buster, please email me your contact information, Milo and I have a lil something special for you.

And to all my lovely readers out there.... Voting for the winner will begin next week. Since deciding is way too hard for Milo and myself, we're entrusting the decision to all you fine folks out there.... more details to follow.

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend...

XOXO

Excitement is building...

Tomorrow I announce the last finalist for Pugapalooza. And on Monday I hope to show all the Honorable Mentions. Then..... the voting begins.

Jetplanes back together again...

Well, after a very long and eventful drive he finally made it home. The house was clean except for my loads of laundry needed to be folded. And he also informed me one of the guys from Texas would be staying at our house tonight on his way to NC.

Great! I didn't dust or vacuum the guest bedroom this weekend.

Its so surreal having him home. I love it don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel real. It was a rough night sleeping. Milo was uber-pissed about not getting to sleep in the bed and decided to stand next to my side of the bed and stare at me. I woke up probably 10 times and looked down to see him staring at me, it was a little creepy. He finally decided to go sleep on the couch around 4am.

But it was so nice to roll over this morning and have a man in my bed.

He's busy all day getting his papers in order, going to the financial office for the money they still owe him, and of course working out. As you will all soon find out, if you don't already know, my sweet hubby is kind of a girl about his body. He complains about being fat all the time. So needless to say, with his knee surgery he hasn't been able to work out like he would like. And believe me, he's been whining about it a lot.

But I love him no matter what... even when we go out to dinner and they assume the chicken sandwich with steamed broccoli is mine and the cheeseburger and fries is his... oh no, its usually the other way around...

Don't worry folks now that the Jetplanes are together again, hilarity will ensue.

Mr. Jetplane = Big Kid

I just spoke with him this morning, and he informed me that kids in his TX neighborhood egged all the cars on their street. All the cars/trucks that is, except his... Kids adore Mr. Jetplane, he plays with them when they are outside and he talks to EVERYBODY.

Funniest story - One afternoon, Mr. Jetplane came home from work and jumped in the shower, we had somewhere to go. I hear the doorbell ring and its the neighbor boy who is 11 or so. I assume he's selling something or a ball went into our backyard, ya know, normal stuff. Oh no... here's how it went down.

Me: "Hi, how you are?"
Boy: "I'm good...um... is Mr. Jetplane home?"
Me: "He's actually in the shower right now, is there anything I can help you with?"
Boy: "Ummm... can he come over and play video games with me? I mean... when he's out of the shower?"
Me: "Well, we have plans tonight, so I don't think he's going to be to able to."
Boy: "Oh... ok... will you tell him I stopped by? Let him know that he can come over to play video games with me."
Me: "I will. I'm sure he'll be excited to play video games with you."

I'm not making this up. This actually happened. The kids in the neighborhood ask me all the time when is he coming back...

Reuniting... and it feels so good... or atleast it will

Thank you all so much for all the good vibes. He passed, but with the delay at the squadron they didn't get done in time to have their graduation ceremony today. So they are having it tomorrow morning 8:30am, which means he can't hit the road back home to P'cola until at least 10am. We had hoped he'd be home a little before I got home from work. But, its ok because he is going to be home tomorrow night. I can't believe it and I'm so excited.
I can't believe these 6 months of schooling are done. Its been hard but we've got through it.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have become my friends and given me an outlet to bitch, brag, and express my feelings about everything in the life of the Jetplanes no matter how trivial the things have been.

I promise to keep up with blogging, but it may not be as much for a little bit. Commenting might be a little low for a couple of weeks.

And before I forget... THANK YOU so much for all the lovely ladies who have recently (or not so recently) gave me awards. I'm sorry I haven't blogged out them, but I greatly appreciate them and you for giving them to me. I'm so glad that someone out there enjoys reading and keeping up with my crazy and some what lame life.

XOXO to you all...

Good Luck Mr. Jetplane

Today is Mr. Jetplane's last day in class in Texas (hopefully). His class has to complete this huge brief which is what I like to call "Mock World Domination". I actually don't really have any idea what the brief is about, its classified, but I do know that it coordinating all sorts of aircraft and various other things.

Its a big deal, and Mr. Jetplane was named Mission Commander over the entire thing. If you know Mr. Jetplane, and some of you out there do, you know that while he is very smart and very capable, he prefers to fly under the radar (pun intended) and do as little work as possible while still getting high marks. Its his MO, so he was livid when he got named the Mission Commander over the entire project. He has lived at the squadron the past few days and was there from 7:45am until 10:15pm last night. He didn't leave once. You see, they study in a vault and can't take any of the information outside it. Needless to say he's stressed.

He expects a lot out of his classmates and was extremely upset that a lot of them didn't know what they were doing and he had to do all their work over last night.

So please send some good luck his way. If they don't pass this brief, they have to repeat it tomorrow.

** Update** He arrived at the squadron at 7:45am and there were cop cars all around. He thought they were there because he was talking to me on his cell phone (speaker, but you're not allowed to be speaking on cell phones on base). They weren't. There was a gas leak or something at the squadron so they can't get in. They hadn't informed the executive officers yet. Mr. Jetplane called his flight commander to let him know and now they are all off to breakfast.

I asked him if they'll practice together. The answer. "Uh No, we can't its all classified, we can't talk about."

Hopefully, they can get back in and prepare for the brief at 10am.

Good Luck Sweetie...

Happy St. Patty's Day, hopefully the luck of the Irish will be on your side.

What do Mrs. Jetplane and Valentino have in common...

Well maybe a little more than you think...

He owns 6 adorable pugs, Milton, Monty, Maude, Margot, Maggie and Molly.

He has been quoted as saying "I don't care about the collection. My dogs are much more important".

Take a look at this clip from his new documentary The Last Emperor.

I adored YSL's documentary and this appers to be very much in that same line. No I didn't allow Milo to watch this clip. He'll be very jealous.

Oh Mr. Valentino... why did you not enter Pugapalooza??

Mrs. Jetplane has a confession...

If you haven't already noticed this, I'm addicted to television. It is true, I adore it and its been a problem in my life for as long as I can remember.

I will say that Thursday nights used to be my favorite but now Mondays are.

Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement and GG (which I didn't start watching until this year), One Tree Hill, Duggars, John & Kate, I mean.... The DVR gets a workout.

I must tell you all if you haven't watched the Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother, you are definitely missing out on some of the best sitcoms that have been on in a LONG time.

Does anyone else hate when you fall in love with a show and it gets cancelled? I do. Did anyone ever watch October Road... I freaking loved, no adored, that show. I am so pissed they dropped it. That show actually made Mr. Jetplane tear up one night, and that in and of itself is a feat. The show was based upon the life of the writer who wrote Beautiful Girls (which by the way, is a wonderful movie).

Anyone else have a show that they loved that was cancelled?

Oh Monday.... How I Loathe You...

Well this weekend was very uneventful. It rained and rained and rained. Milo and I didn't get our usual Saturday and Sunday morning walks in, so he was pissed. He was also pissed because Mama didn't have time this morning to put his bed back together after putting it in the wash last night. So he's 'enjoying' a makeshift bed as we speak.

I cleaned the house (well most of it) and we're almost ready for the Mr. and Charlie to come home. We, meaning me, have a lot of laundry to fold and put away, sheets to wash and change on the bed (lil pug sleeps with me in Mr.'s absence), and I have to take everything out of the office that I've stowed away in his 'man space'.
*Sorry ladies, he's taken! My hubby on our flight to the DR. He hates getting his picture taken, can you tell...

Mr. Jetplane and Charlie will be home on Wednesday! As in the day 2 days away. Mr. Jetplane knows I grocery shop on Sundays so he called me to ask if I could buy a couple of things that he likes - his cereal, lunch meat, and soy milk. Yes, Mr. Jetplane drinks soy milk. But since I've never bought it for him before, he provided me with a detailed explanation of the type he wanted. It had to be plain, it had to be 1/2 the fat of regular soy milk, and yada yada yada.

Funny story, Mr. Jetplane loved milk and all milk products for his whole life. He drank a gallon a milk a week and ate cereal every morning. He adored cheese and ice cream. Well, when Mr. Jetplane began flight school and more importantly flying with his g-suit on, he got sick ALOT. He threw up ALOT. Well, someone asked him what he was eating and drinking. One of the guys, ask him if he thought he could potentially be lactose intolerant. Surely not, this boy eats milk products all day everyday and never had an issue until now. So Mr. Jetplane started drinking soy milk and taking some medicine before he eats milk products, and what do you know... he's all better. Very strange..

Sorry for the long story about Mr. Jetplane's lactose intolerance... he'd kill me...

Total side note... does anyone out there watch Big Love? Umm.... hello, is it not totally awesome this year? Next week is the season finale, thoughts on what's going to happen? One of my co-workers told me that the rumor was 2 major characters die this season, 1 already has so who's next? My co-worker thinks its going to be Nikki...

Boys will be Boys??

Ok, I must start by saying that Mr. Jetplane is a wonderful guy and I trust him completely. And the fact that my cute hubby has a nasty porn stache can't do anything for his appeal with the ladies right now...

But here's a question that came up this weekend. Would you be okay with your husband going out with another guy who has allegedly been unfaithful to his wife? What do they say about the company you keep? Its one thing to have cheated on your boyfriend or girlfriend, because I've been that person, but this is a whole other level of deceit... or at least it seems that way to me.

Just putting it out there...

**Update - Point of Clarification Required... I don't have a problem with them being friends. I won't tell him who he can or can't be friends with. I have a small issue with them going out to a bar just the 2 of them. Mr. Jetplane says he has no idea if the rumors about the couple were true or not and he refuses to have conversations with him about it. Which I think is fair....

Kids today are idiots...

It makes me sick to my stomach to read statistics showing that around 40% of teens think that Rhianna deserved to get beat up and that this type of violence is 'normal' in a relationship. That 40% includes girls.

Excuse me... what the hell are you talking about?

I watched Oprah's special about this yesterday. I wanted to physically shake the girl that thought Rhianna deserved it because its alleged that she hit Chris Brown. So what if she did slap him once or twice, he could have subdued her, kicked her out of the car, or whatever. Beating the crap out of her where is has bruises all over, was not called for or legal for that matter.

And now she's back with him... what does this say. It saddens me and scares me that kids think its ok.

While I have never been physically abused by a boyfriend, I did date one that was extremely controlling and tried to tell me that I was nothing without him. Luckily, he dumped me because I didn't adhere to his 'rules' the way I was suppose to. The next girl he dated (whom he cheated on me with, who was supposed to have been my friend) it was rumored that he did hit her. I can see him doing that, he had a very bad temper. Oh... and this was all during my sophomore year of high school. I count myself as lucky to get out of that relationship.

I really think it leads to parents taking a more active role in their children's lives. These poor girls have low esteem and think at some level they deserve this. Love doesn't hurt and it doesn't leave bruises. If they'll hit you once, they will hit you again. Don't fool yourself. Be Smart.

Pug of the Week 4

Hello to all my lovely pug lovers. I hope this Friday morning finds you all very well. This is the 4th week of Pugapalooza and the contest officially will stop collecting entries on Sunday. Next Friday will be the last finalist, and then I'm going to open it up to the voting public. I know I said would select the winner, but they are all just so darn cute I can't make the decision. (We may even have some honorable mentions...)
Okay... okay... onto the 4th Finalist in Pugapalooza.... drum roll please....

Ms. Lily Ann....

Look at her in lil dress. She got all dress up for us this morning...

She's given us all a wink, isn't she??
This lil cutie pie's proud mama is Megan. She is without a blog, but please feel free to show her and her lil girl some love here.
And last but not least... take a look at these munchkins... They are ready for a ride.
If that doesn't make your Friday better, than nothing could.
Congrats Ms. Lily Ann and Megan. Please email me your contact info, Milo has a lil something for you.
XOXO

You know what tomorrow is...

Its Britney Bitch...

Here's a link to her new Video for If You Seek Amy. I'll admit I had heard the drama awhile ago and had listened to the song a lot but never picked up on the issue.

But I listened to it again this past weekend walking the dog and I hear it. Very crafty those Britney Spears song writers are...

Loves it....

Prepare for Incoming...

6 days and Mr. Jetplane will be home.... Yeah! I'm so excited but I'm also dreading it a little, to be completely honest.

Milo and I have been straight chilling for like 6 months now. We're in our groove and we've gotten used to it being just the 2 of us again. Well next week, my sweetie and our big dog Charlie are coming back into the crib. Its great but that means, all my bad habits have to stop and prepare for a huge change.

We had a conversation on the phone last night that went sort of like this...

Mr. " I can't wait to come home, I miss you like a crazy person"
Me: "I miss you too but now I have to stop being messy"
Mr.: "Yeah I bet, there's no telling what the place looks like."
Me: "Yes, there are shoes and socks everywhere...(laughing)"
Mr.:" I believe it. That place better be spotless when I get home."
Me: "Yeah right, we both know you didn't marry me for my domestic skills and its not going to start now."

You see, I'm quite the messy gal. I'll admit it. I leave shoes all over the place. I also take off my socks off while laying on the couch and you'll find them - in the couch, under the couch, in the blanket... it annoys him. I also have a ton of clothes and I generally try on 2 to 3 outfits every morning - with different undergarments, necklaces, shoes, etc. And I proceed to not put them away. I also leave clothes in the dryer FOREVER or have a pile of dirty clothes in the laundry room with no intention of doing it until is absolutely necessary.

So these bad habits have to be stopped before he gets home. Milo is going to be pissed, he'll be out of my bed and back on the floor.... I haven't told him yet.

Cause I'm Easy....

While I love, no adore, getting gifts from Mr. Jetplane, its the smallest things that I love the most.
A text I received...

Ode to my wife
I wake up and I miss u
I drive to work and call u
I sit at work and think of u
mostly I just miss u

love ur hubby

Now doesn't that just make a day better. The answer you're looking for is YES...

7 days people!

Then mama gets her man back home.

Yeah! We're breaking it down on the dance floor...

Mrs. Jetplane's Reading List

I'll be honest, over the last 5 years or so I have really gotten into reading again. During the wedding planning process reading books took a back seat to wedding craziness, but I do thoroughly enjoy reading again.

I try to read a book every 2 weeks. Since I work in an office, I try get out of the office and read for an hour a day. It gets me away from my desk and allows me to de-stress. If a book is really good, I'll read at night and on the weekends.

Now, I'm not going to lie and say that I read only the classics or thought provoking self help books, or whatever else would make me sound incredibly deep because that would be a flat out lie. I do read biographies, non-fiction, fiction, a little poetry, chick lit, a little sci fi... I have read all the Harry Potter books (so has Mr. Jetplane) and all the Twilight books (so has Mr. Jetplane). But I do like to mix it up a bit. I've read a lot of Stephen King and Thomas Harrison, but I've also enjoyed Steinbeck and Jon Krakauer and a little Jennifer Weiner or Janet Evanovich for good measure on holiday. Since I drive ALOT going back and forth to the Midwest, Mr. Jetplane and I tend to listen to books on tape, I've listen to almost all of Nicholas Sparks books (atleast the ones on sale..) and Candace Bushnell books.

Well, as I've gushed about my undying (no pun intended) love for the Sookie Stackhouse series, I purchased the 8th book yesterday, and I am sad that I have to wait unti May to read the 9th. So that being the case I also picked up these 2 books to keep me occupied.

Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates

I heard this book and movie were fabulous and I refuse to watch the movie before I read the book.

The Witches of Eastwick by John UpdikeI have wanted to read this book and its sequel for quite some time but just haven't. I loved the 80's movie and now they are going to make a television show based on it so I thought I'd give it a read.

What are my favorite books.... Well my favorite book in the world... its kinda strange, but Dante's Inferno. I also like Ordinary People and Of Mice and Men. I read all of these in my high school honors English classes.

Some books that I have liked very much and would recommend:

1. Into the Wild
2. Under the Banner of Heaven (about fundamentalist Mormons, and is highly criticized)
3. Water for Elephants

Well and of course Sookie Stackhouse series... like duh....

And I must comment on one book that I absolutely hated and it took me forever to finish...

Eat, Pray, Love

I'm sorry to the millions upon millions that loved it.... I liked Italy but couldn't stand the rest of it. It wasn't awe inspiring to mind blowing to me... maybe I need to be older and be going through a divorce, not sure.

What are your favorite books? What would you recommend? Summer is coming up and my reading kicks into high gear with vacations, laying on the beach, etc.

Jetplanes Moving on Up to the East Side...

Well that's not totally true...

We're moving further east, that's most definitely true. Mr. Jetplane received his orders yesterday for our move to NC and his F-15E squadron. With his knee surgery, we got rolled back a class or two.

We will heading to NC at the end of August. It seems I always move in August, and if you know anything about the Gulf Coast in August, its the worst possible time. I moved from Indy to P'cola in August, we moved from one rental house to another in P'cola in August, and now we're moving to NC in August. Oh joy!
Mr. Jetplane will be at survival school for 3 weeks prior to our move, so I'll be managing the majority of it... UGH.

But we're moving, and I'm very excited. I feel like our married life will now be able to officially start. I know that might sound weird since we'll be celebrating 1 year of marriage in June. But its true, that's how I feel.
Eight more days till he's home. Can't wait!!
*Yes his shirt says Steel Erection, he's a dork like that, but I still love him. And those necklaces were to show we were part of a winging party and got free drinks.

Someone is a little emotional today...

And that someone is me. Okay, a little back story here may be needed. Living in P'cola I am truly disturbed by one thing... how many animals I see killed on the side of the road - be those armadillos, cats, raccoons, squirrels, birds, and dogs. I see dogs running around neighborhoods on main streets with tags on, every single day. It breaks my heart. People if you can't tend to you dog, you shouldn't have one. In the subdivison next to mind, people leave their 'lil'dogs out in the front yard and they follow Milo and I as we walk. I've seen these dogs almost get hit over 10 times.

But today I was heading to work not far from my subdivision is a very heavily tree lined area and I see a squirrel run down a tree and a car in front of mine with a woman on her cell phone. I yell to the squirrel, "Watch out!" Yes I totally did this but the squirrel didn't listen to me and I saw this poor thing get hit. And then I started crying and I don't mean a tear, I mean full on cried for like 5 minutes until I had to compose myself to buy some gas.

Mr. Jetplane says I'm an overly emotional person, but I can't help it. I love all the lil squirrels, and I hate to one die, especially right in from of me.

Squirrels are my sorority's mascot, so maybe I love them a little more than other people....

Vampires, Tigers, and Fairies... oh my...

This weekend I finished the 6th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series and it was wonderful. It was suspenseful and entertaining all at the same time. If anyone is interested in starting a new book series, I highly suggest starting this series.

In the 6th book, Sookie has to go down to NOLA to close on her cousin's (who she hadn't been close with for a long time) estate. Turns out, she had become a vampire and was a very "good" friend of the Queen of Louisiana. Betcha didn't know there was a Queen of Louisiana, well in the make believe world of vampires that I'm currently submerged in there is.

Someone is trying to kill Sookie (nothing new), Sookie is dating someone new who's a real tiger in the sack (that's b/c he is a tiger, for real....), and Bill is a total a-hole.

Oh Sookie... so many supernatural hunky men and so little time.

Which leads me to my question for this post... While I'm reading a book, I visualize the characters, what they look like, their voices, etc. Sara and I began discussing who we thought should play these characters or atleast who we envision playing the characters.

Since HBO True Blood is based on these books (Season 1 is pretty much Book 1) I already had a visual on Sookie, Bill, Eric, Jason, Pam, Sam, Arlene, etc. (Tara in the show is totally different than in the books).

But for all of you out there, who do you think would be the best actors to play the following:

Alcide
Quinn
Claudine
Claude
Calvin Norris
Crystal Norris
Debbie Pelt
Chow
Queen of Louisiana

For those of you that haven't seen the television show yet.

Here is Eric - I find him to be very close to the book, except is hair isn't as long as it should be. He was a Viking and over 1,000 yrs old. Looks pretty hot to me.

Bill - who I don't like right now, so I can't find anything nice to say about him.Thoughts?

Mrs. Jetplane loves...

I recently found Nella Designs on Etsy. How cute are these? I'm thinking about doing the thumb print one below for someone's upcoming wedding... I adore these for a child's bedroom or maybe even one for my hypothetical office when we move to NC.

You can customized the color and you can even pick out certain kiddos for the prints. They are very reasonably priced and too cute for words.

Is anyone else living in Mustache March???

Yes you read that correctly. I was informed that we are on in Mustache March, what is this Mustache March that I'm referring to... well...

Fighter squadrons and other aviators grow mustaches throughout the month of March. Yes you read that correctly, my sexy hubby is growing a dirty nasty stache right now. I warned him that I will not kiss him or do anything else (wink wink). Facial hair irritates my skin and I find it totally gross....

Why would you a cutie patootie grow a nasty, child molester, stache.

This is a picture from our Honeymoon in Punta Cana. We stayed at the Excellence Club. We loved it.

When I was in college I dated a guy for quite a long time, Mr. Baseball let's call him. One summer he spent the summer in the woods of Northern Washington State working in a national forest. And during this time he decided he would not shave. When we both got back to school he showed up at my house with a full on beard, I was totally disgusted. I told him that I would come over to his new apt later that night for a little catch up (if you know what I mean) but that the nasty facial hair had to be gone. Well I showed up, and he had made the bread into a even grosser goatee. I kindly told him that I would not kiss him or anything else if he didn't shave... He thought I was joking. After 20 minutes, he realized that I wasn't and he shaved it all off within a matter of minutes.

This let's you know how much I truly hate facial hair....

Hello Weekend...

I'll be the first to admit, eventhough I live in sunny Florida, I'm not the biggest fan of Pcola and can't wait to get out of here. But, when you live 10 minutes away from this, sometimes it makes it alright.

Its suppose to be beautiful weekend. Which means Milo and I will be heading to the beach on base for an early morning walk. He adores the beach and I love watching him chase the waves and the crabs back into their homes.
Now if only Mr. Jetplane would get his cute lil butt home, we could enjoy the beautiful weather and the beach together.

These are some of my much loved engagement shoot by Oeil Photography that was taken on the beach on NAS Pcola. The sun was setting and it was freezing, but totally worth it. I adore these pictures. You can fully appreciate how short I am in this picture.

Counting down the days....

Pug of the Week 3

Good Morning to all you pug loving fools. Its Friday, the greatest day of the work week, and its also the 3rd Friday of Pugapalooza. So yes, its time for Mrs. Jetplane to introduce you all to the 3rd finalist. And here he is .... Alex is the precious pug puppy of Air Force Wife. Isn't he just adorable?

"Uhhh... Mama? I'm eating here.." And if you know anything about pugs, you know not to get between a pug and his/her dinner. Pugs, well at least all I've ever met, are very food motivated.

Doesn't a pug puppy face just melt your heart.... I just want to pick him up and give him kisses.
So please head over and give Alex and his Mama some love today. But don't worry there is still time to enter into Pugapalooza.
Milo wants you all to know that you can't leave your pug out, email us at leavingandloving@gmail.com with you pug's name and pictures.
Air Force Wife please email me with your contact information, Milo and I have a little something for the two of you.
Enjoy your Friday!
XOXO
