Pug Friday

Happy Pug Friday everyone....

Everyone excited for the weekend? It appears we might have a chilly, icy, and perhaps snowy weekend ahead of us. I hope we get some snow tomorrow. I haven't seen snow in years.
This week's Pug Friday photo reminds me our our dogs. They are all about trying to lick the dishes in the dishwasher as you're loading it. And all your hear from me is..."No!" "What did I just say?" "No! No! No!"

And since we might be in for a cold weekend I thought I'd leave you with a song that always makes me think warm, happy vacay thoughts....

Happy Pug Friday!

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

The Jetplanes are settling down as much as we can. Yesterday, Mr. Jetplane calls me to tell me that he is going to make dinner. To that I ask... "Well what are you planning to make? We have no food in our house right now."

Mr.: "I know. I'm not sure. What do we have?"
Me: "I think we have a box of chicken nuggets, lots of frozen veggies, rice, mac and cheese, soup. But I had soup and a sandwich for lunch, so I don't want them."
Mr: sulking.... since he is all Mr. Healthy eater... "UGH... I had soup and a sandwich too...whatever..."
Me: "Well you could go to the store?"
Mr.: "I'll make what we have..."

Fast forward to my drive home from work...
Mr "Where are you? Dinner will be ready in 43 seconds."
Me "I'm driving home, I'll be home in about 5-10 minutes. What did you make?"
Mr "What you told me to make... by the way we each only get 3 chicken nuggets..."

I arrived home to a lovely meal of 3 chicken nuggets, Velveeta shells and cheese (2%), and broccoli. We drank lovely sugar free Strawberry Crystal Light.

Someone needs to go to the store... I have a feeling it will be me.

Oh Monday.... How I Loathe You...

Well this weekend was very uneventful. It rained and rained and rained. Milo and I didn't get our usual Saturday and Sunday morning walks in, so he was pissed. He was also pissed because Mama didn't have time this morning to put his bed back together after putting it in the wash last night. So he's 'enjoying' a makeshift bed as we speak.

I cleaned the house (well most of it) and we're almost ready for the Mr. and Charlie to come home. We, meaning me, have a lot of laundry to fold and put away, sheets to wash and change on the bed (lil pug sleeps with me in Mr.'s absence), and I have to take everything out of the office that I've stowed away in his 'man space'.
*Sorry ladies, he's taken! My hubby on our flight to the DR. He hates getting his picture taken, can you tell...

Mr. Jetplane and Charlie will be home on Wednesday! As in the day 2 days away. Mr. Jetplane knows I grocery shop on Sundays so he called me to ask if I could buy a couple of things that he likes - his cereal, lunch meat, and soy milk. Yes, Mr. Jetplane drinks soy milk. But since I've never bought it for him before, he provided me with a detailed explanation of the type he wanted. It had to be plain, it had to be 1/2 the fat of regular soy milk, and yada yada yada.

Funny story, Mr. Jetplane loved milk and all milk products for his whole life. He drank a gallon a milk a week and ate cereal every morning. He adored cheese and ice cream. Well, when Mr. Jetplane began flight school and more importantly flying with his g-suit on, he got sick ALOT. He threw up ALOT. Well, someone asked him what he was eating and drinking. One of the guys, ask him if he thought he could potentially be lactose intolerant. Surely not, this boy eats milk products all day everyday and never had an issue until now. So Mr. Jetplane started drinking soy milk and taking some medicine before he eats milk products, and what do you know... he's all better. Very strange..

Sorry for the long story about Mr. Jetplane's lactose intolerance... he'd kill me...

Total side note... does anyone out there watch Big Love? Umm.... hello, is it not totally awesome this year? Next week is the season finale, thoughts on what's going to happen? One of my co-workers told me that the rumor was 2 major characters die this season, 1 already has so who's next? My co-worker thinks its going to be Nikki...

Prepare for Incoming...

6 days and Mr. Jetplane will be home.... Yeah! I'm so excited but I'm also dreading it a little, to be completely honest.

Milo and I have been straight chilling for like 6 months now. We're in our groove and we've gotten used to it being just the 2 of us again. Well next week, my sweetie and our big dog Charlie are coming back into the crib. Its great but that means, all my bad habits have to stop and prepare for a huge change.

We had a conversation on the phone last night that went sort of like this...

Mr. " I can't wait to come home, I miss you like a crazy person"
Me: "I miss you too but now I have to stop being messy"
Mr.: "Yeah I bet, there's no telling what the place looks like."
Me: "Yes, there are shoes and socks everywhere...(laughing)"
Mr.:" I believe it. That place better be spotless when I get home."
Me: "Yeah right, we both know you didn't marry me for my domestic skills and its not going to start now."

You see, I'm quite the messy gal. I'll admit it. I leave shoes all over the place. I also take off my socks off while laying on the couch and you'll find them - in the couch, under the couch, in the blanket... it annoys him. I also have a ton of clothes and I generally try on 2 to 3 outfits every morning - with different undergarments, necklaces, shoes, etc. And I proceed to not put them away. I also leave clothes in the dryer FOREVER or have a pile of dirty clothes in the laundry room with no intention of doing it until is absolutely necessary.

So these bad habits have to be stopped before he gets home. Milo is going to be pissed, he'll be out of my bed and back on the floor.... I haven't told him yet.

Bad Blogger...

Yes I am. I have a lot to write about, but unfortunately I have been pre-occupied with watching football and cleaning out my closet. Doing my closet takes forever, especially because I get distracted quite easily. And I close Colts game, will most definitely do that. Way to go Colts!!!

Anyway....things that I will be writing about soon...

1. My Pay it Forward that I'm taking part in thanks to Nina
2. My new television loves
3. My upcoming giveaway for my 200th Post
4. Update on the Mr.
5. Recap of dog sitting, Walle is still with us until Tuesday.

Hope to get to all these in the next couple of days....

Now back to that closet of mine... next its onto the bathroom linen closet (aka my shoe closet), and then to the workout room's closet (aka my dress/suit/holiday decor closet).

I have a crap load of clothes, shoes, etc. But I am weeding a lot of it out before we leave for NC, its going to Yard Sale time when the Mr. comes home from TX.

Hope everyone's enjoying what's left of their weekend.

By the way, I didn't go to the outlet mall, I talked myself off that ledge yet again.

The Weekend that Was...

This weekend was the last one that the Hubby and I had together before he left for training in Texas. It was good and sad all at the same time.

Friday we met up with some friends at O-Zone's, a great pizza place in P'cola. We shared some yummy pizza, beers, and wine for me, as well as some great conversation. After that we headed downtown to Will-Call a new sports bar, then to our regular bar, Intermission. We played some darts, and Hubby and I dominated.... I'll admit I probably drank alittle too much. But it was a good time.

Saturday, since I drank too much we didn't make it to yoga. Instead we took Charlie to get his incision checked at the vet, get groomed, and buy him his new Blue Buffalo dog food that we're trying. That afternoon we returned some things to the NEX, stocked up on Halloween candy, got a bulb to fix my tail light, stopped at Lowe's for supplies, and then headed home to do some yard work.

With the Mr. taking Charlie with him to TX, we thought it was time to start repairing some of the "damage" that he had put on the yard. We filled in the "trenches" he dug in the yard and planted grass seed. I also talked Brent into letting me get mums for the front porch. I had to talk him into it, because at our last house, I bought huge baskets of mums 2x, and killed them all. So I bought a smaller pot of mums and cross my fingers I don't kill them, because they are really pretty...

Saturday night was very chill, we BBQ'd some chicken, watched Almost Famous (one of my favs), my DVR'd copy of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, and then I passed out on the couch. I have a small partial filling that fell out last week. I went to the dentist, but I'm a new patient so I couldn't get it fixed that day. I'm getting it taken care of this week, but last night my it was very sore. I took a pill for the pain and it put me to sleep.

Today, well it was a very lazy day. I went to the grocery store and stocked up for the next week or so. Came home, watched plenty of "Moving Up" and played with Milo and his new toys that I bought him today. We took care of the yard, watering the new grass, Miracle Growed the plants I'm willing back to life, and re potted the mum.

Tonight, the Milo and I took a walk, made dinner, and we're chilling watching Extreme Home Makeover, which I'm sure I'm going to bawl any minute now.

So the Mr. is gone until March, granted we'll be together for Thanksgiving, Xmas, and NYE, but march seems forever away....

I don't know about anyone else who's away from their spouse for an extended period of time, the worst for me is waking up in the middle of the night with them not there and coming home from work to an empty house. Thank goodness I have the lil puggie to meet me at the door and to snuggle with.... I've been told that we snore we in unison.

Oh... I almost forgot... I also received a totally awesome package at my doorstep. More about that tomorow.... All I'll say is I'm madly in love with it, and I'll do my best to talk about it tomorrow evening...
