I've become the WORST type of blogger

The kind that doesn't blog :(

Its upsetting to me, but its become a fact of life at this point. I have a ton to write about but unfortunately zero motivation to do it. I'm sure ever blogger goes through a similar rut. I feel like my rut is life induced. I have a feeling this blog will once again become a refuge for me like it was went I first started.

Right after Mr. Jetplane and I got married we lived apart for almost six months while he attended T-38 school and EWO training. I stayed in Pcola during his stays in MS and TX to continue to work.

I have a strong feeling you'll be seeing me more often in the coming months as we head into the deployment.

So I know its Pug Friday and I have been a very bad blogger so I leave you with a picture of my most favorite puggie....Milo and his (big) lil brother Charlie, my 2 loving companions while Mr. is gone.

Picture was taken before we left Pcola and before I traded in my sweet Jeep Liberty. I loved that ride.

Seriously People...he's a pug

So we had noticed before Christmas that the For Sale sign on the house next door had been removed. Then during the time between Christmas and New Year we saw a car parked there, but NEVER saw people. Well yesterday all that changed when we noticed a young couple and their child moving in.

Mr. Jetplane was in the front yard playing catch with both of the dogs and when he saw them, he decided to put Charlie up (since well he's a big ass dog, and some people are scared of him) and I see Milo take off next door to say hi. He runs up on the porch and is greeted with full on screams of terror...by all 3 of them...

The little boy (and I mean probably atleast 6 yrs old) screams at the top of his lungs and is bawling hysterically. I run over and grab Milo assure them that he's not dangerous, he won't bite, and he just wanted to meet you all. He's very friendly and really just wanted to play with you.

The mother said.."I thought he wanted to run into our house.."

To that I replied, "Well to be completely honest, he probably did want to. He doesn't know a stranger and would be happy to run in and sit on the couch with you and watch tv. He did do that to our old neighbors before."

So Mr. Jetplane ran over once he heard the screams, we introduced ourselves, re-assured them about 50x Milo was safe, and I waited till they could bring the boy out of hiding from the house so he could meet Milo.

We walked back to our house and Mr. Jetplane said, "Can't believe that lil boy was scared of Milo." I said, "Oh no honey... ALL 3 we're freaking scared to DEATH of Milo. Just wait to they see Charlie!"

Now I understand that a lot of people confuse Milo's breathing for growling so they are concerned, but seriously people, when you scream and jump at a dog, they either get excited or nervous which makes the situation even worse. Its pretty obvious these people have never had a dog or been around dogs before...ugh...

Welcome to the neighborhood!!!

Dogs - 1 Mrs. Jetplane - 0

(Front Porch prior to yesterday) Scene: Wednesday afternoon around 4:45pm

It is cold and raining, the dogs needed to go outside and I heard my office phone ringing. I was expecting a phone call, it should only last 15 minutes. The dogs will end up going onto the backporch to get out of the rain. Plus they have some internal clock which tells them to start flipping out around 5pm because they know its time to eat.
I'm on the phone and I hear Charlie barking from the right side of the house. Nothing unusual, we have the houses to our left and our right for sale. People are constantly looking at them, workers inspecting things on the properties, etc. Yes, I'm sure our huge, white dog is a great selling feature...no matter... I hear his barking and just assume someone is next door. I continue with my call and its finished around 5:05 and I head to the kitchen. Charlie is at the back door and eager to get in the house. He is barking...no worries...he's just hungry. I get their food from the garage and open the door to the back deck. Charlie runs in and wants to eat..nothing new. I yell for Milo...he's not coming in... I yell "Time to Eat Dinner!" (FYI - He runs for the words Dinner, Food, and Treat no joke). Nothing. So I put my slippers on and go out to the porch and see the side gate is OPEN.

Mama Bear goes into a panic...its pouring down rain..I run to the front of the house...nothing...and I'm screaming... MILO! MILO! MILO! nothing. I run into the house, put on a coat, grab an umbrella, and throw Charlie's food into his bowl. I think to myself...do I get in the car? (Thoughts of the squeaky toy dog commercial are running through my head)

Then I look 3 houses down and through the rain I see a lil dog peeing on every in a yard...that's my Milo. I scream at him and he turns around like...What? Are you talking to me?

Yes I am you lil shit! I most certainly am talking to you. He then proceeds to go into the yard of the house for sale directly to our right and run up on the porch...during this time I see an older gentleman at the house standing in the driveway...he's been watching this whole episode for the past 5 minutes...did it NEVER OCCUR TO HIM that a lady who is screaming in her front yard with an umbrella and wearing slippers...might be looking for a little dog that is wandering around the neighborhood? Evidently not!

I pick up the lil pain in the ass and walk us back to our house. Letting him know what I think about him the whole way. Then I see something in the front yard that resembles a bird...but not really. Then I look up onto the porch and see a crow missing from my porch... I know Milo didn't do this...

Looks like the 2 of them had quite a party in the front yard while mama was on the phone... They both got put in timeout for awhile after this latest adventure...
Here is what's left of the crow...

FYI-Mr. Jetplane left the gate open... he has been punished and will be buying me a new crow from Michael's.

Lord help me when we have children...

On The Move... Again

Such is the life of a mil wife... on the move, making adjustments, and just plain sucking it up and dealing with whatever life (aka military) throws your way.

Lesson #1
Learn to Deal

Sure you can bitch and moan, get really pissed, yell at your husband, etc. etc. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, you nor he can change it.. 2 sayings that are very common in our household... "It is what it is" and "The needs of the military supersede your own needs"

No truer statements in my book. But it isn't all bad... I might bitch about it, but its doable and it is what you make of it...

Well with all that being said, WE'RE MOVING ON TUESDAY! We close on our house a week from today. And this girl could not move without sending out a moving announcement and the moving announcement has to have a picture of our children (aka our dogs).

The announcements are going in the mail tonight... So for those of you that will be getting one... this is a taste of what's come. Don't spill the beans to anyone else.

The names and addresses have been changed to protect the innocent...i.e. ME.

(Milo is gonna drive, Charlie is gonna hold the map...cross your fingers we get there!)

Thank you to Nina for all help and special thanks to Mrs. Newlywed for helping me be creative and witty, when it felt very hard to come by.

Nina is very easy to work with and does a fabulous job, so if you're in the market for a holiday card, moving announcement, etc... check her out.

Disclaimer: I was not compensated for the shout out!!

Odds and Ends of The Jetplanes

Well... Hello all... Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend because the Jetplanes had an awesome weekend.

Friday - A lil OG and hitting up Best Buy and World Market (needed some Sophia). And finished the latest Sookie book... more info to follow

Saturday - Puggie Meet Up - Subway - hanging out with the dogs and watching a lil HBO, then cleaning out closets and preparing for upcoming Yard Sale. At night we hit up a comedy show the first one in a while being held in Pcola. It was a great time.

Here is part of the crew from the meet up. We had quite a good showing this month.
Here's Milo... someone needed a drink...

Sunday - Took the dogs to the beach on base, commissary for groceries, saw Star Trek, and then home to cook dinner and Mr. did yard work.
Quite a way to start a Sunday morning... don't you think... I love the fact that we seriously live 10 minutes away from this...

Someone did not want to go home....

Someone was a little tired on the way home...

All in all, it was quite an enjoyable weekend.

and THANK YOU to the over 1100 people that visited and voted in Pugapalooza 2009. And the winner is... ALEX... Congrats Alex and his MAMA.... please resend me your mailing address.

As promised... Charlie Loving...

As promised Charlie Jetplane gets his own post. Charlie is an American Bulldog and is almost 2 years old. Mr. Jetplane asked me if we could get him less than a week after he proposed.
I never wanted a big dog, but how can a girl say no after she's been proposed to...Charlie is about 100lbs and is pretty sure that he is a lap dog. He is convinced that he and Milo are the same size.

Charlie loves his daddy, Mr. Jetplane, more than anything in the whole world. And nothing makes him happier than playing with his dad.

He is quite a handful but I have grown to love that big ol goofy dog.

Hope this post could brighten your weekend alittle bit.... Hope you all have enjoyed the Jetplanes family photo shoot pics. Once again, they are all from Oeil Photography.
XOXO

Sneak Peek - Part 3

She posted a couple today, can't wait to get my hands on all of them. As you can see Milo is the boss and sits in the driver's seat.
Actually they jumped up there when we got out of the vehicle. Milo looks happy but Charlie looks guilty...
Aren't they the cutest...

Jetplane Family Time...

As you all are well aware of, the entire Jetplane family has been reunited and this weekend is the 1st weekend that we have been together in our house ALONE for some serious QT (quality time). Unfortunately, we headed up north for my grandma's funeral, then ATL wedding, then sis-in-law visit, so now we are sticking our butts still for a few days before heading up to Chi-town.

But most importantly the whole family is having a photoshoot this weekend. We have talked about wanting professional pictures of our babies and I love to get them on the beach. And since we are moving at the end of August, who knows if and when we'll live near a beach again.

I intend to use these pictures for our Christmas cards and Moving Announcements. Also, I would love to give them away for our Mother's Day gifts.

The lovely, talented, fellow mil-wife Michelle with Oeil Photography will be meeting us this weekend. I had a talk with the boys last night during our after dinner walk. I let them know to start practicing their posts, this is going to be their big break to get into modeling. I think I caught Charlie this morning checking himself out in the full length mirror in the bedroom.

The lovely Michelle took our engagement pictures and my boudoir shoots.

I'm very excited... now I need to figure out what we're going to wear. Pray for good weather, I think its suppose to be raining on and off all weekend.

Happy Hump Day

XOXO

Dog Owners Beware...

If you are an owner of a dog that belongs to a 'dangerous breed' category and you also have a small child please take this as a warning.

Don't leave your dog with the child unattended under any circumstances.

Only a little moment was enough for the following to happen.

MIL Jetplane sent this to me earlier today, since we are the proud owner of a big ol American Bulldog, Charlie. Yes, Mrs. Jetplane has 2 dogs, and the other one isn't a pug. Now, the Mr. is back home so is Charlie...
Monday, March 16, 2009

Oh Monday.... How I Loathe You...

Well this weekend was very uneventful. It rained and rained and rained. Milo and I didn't get our usual Saturday and Sunday morning walks in, so he was pissed. He was also pissed because Mama didn't have time this morning to put his bed back together after putting it in the wash last night. So he's 'enjoying' a makeshift bed as we speak.

I cleaned the house (well most of it) and we're almost ready for the Mr. and Charlie to come home. We, meaning me, have a lot of laundry to fold and put away, sheets to wash and change on the bed (lil pug sleeps with me in Mr.'s absence), and I have to take everything out of the office that I've stowed away in his 'man space'.
*Sorry ladies, he's taken! My hubby on our flight to the DR. He hates getting his picture taken, can you tell...

Mr. Jetplane and Charlie will be home on Wednesday! As in the day 2 days away. Mr. Jetplane knows I grocery shop on Sundays so he called me to ask if I could buy a couple of things that he likes - his cereal, lunch meat, and soy milk. Yes, Mr. Jetplane drinks soy milk. But since I've never bought it for him before, he provided me with a detailed explanation of the type he wanted. It had to be plain, it had to be 1/2 the fat of regular soy milk, and yada yada yada.

Funny story, Mr. Jetplane loved milk and all milk products for his whole life. He drank a gallon a milk a week and ate cereal every morning. He adored cheese and ice cream. Well, when Mr. Jetplane began flight school and more importantly flying with his g-suit on, he got sick ALOT. He threw up ALOT. Well, someone asked him what he was eating and drinking. One of the guys, ask him if he thought he could potentially be lactose intolerant. Surely not, this boy eats milk products all day everyday and never had an issue until now. So Mr. Jetplane started drinking soy milk and taking some medicine before he eats milk products, and what do you know... he's all better. Very strange..

Sorry for the long story about Mr. Jetplane's lactose intolerance... he'd kill me...

Total side note... does anyone out there watch Big Love? Umm.... hello, is it not totally awesome this year? Next week is the season finale, thoughts on what's going to happen? One of my co-workers told me that the rumor was 2 major characters die this season, 1 already has so who's next? My co-worker thinks its going to be Nikki...

Prepare for Incoming...

6 days and Mr. Jetplane will be home.... Yeah! I'm so excited but I'm also dreading it a little, to be completely honest.

Milo and I have been straight chilling for like 6 months now. We're in our groove and we've gotten used to it being just the 2 of us again. Well next week, my sweetie and our big dog Charlie are coming back into the crib. Its great but that means, all my bad habits have to stop and prepare for a huge change.

We had a conversation on the phone last night that went sort of like this...

Mr. " I can't wait to come home, I miss you like a crazy person"
Me: "I miss you too but now I have to stop being messy"
Mr.: "Yeah I bet, there's no telling what the place looks like."
Me: "Yes, there are shoes and socks everywhere...(laughing)"
Mr.:" I believe it. That place better be spotless when I get home."
Me: "Yeah right, we both know you didn't marry me for my domestic skills and its not going to start now."

You see, I'm quite the messy gal. I'll admit it. I leave shoes all over the place. I also take off my socks off while laying on the couch and you'll find them - in the couch, under the couch, in the blanket... it annoys him. I also have a ton of clothes and I generally try on 2 to 3 outfits every morning - with different undergarments, necklaces, shoes, etc. And I proceed to not put them away. I also leave clothes in the dryer FOREVER or have a pile of dirty clothes in the laundry room with no intention of doing it until is absolutely necessary.

So these bad habits have to be stopped before he gets home. Milo is going to be pissed, he'll be out of my bed and back on the floor.... I haven't told him yet.

Our Love is Better than Chocolate

Today is the weekend, and of course these are the hard days when I really miss Mr. Jetplane. These are the days that we hung out together and did meaningless tasks. These are the days that we slept in, worked out, walked the dogs, made lunch, went to the movies, went to Best Buy, rode around on the motor cycle, cleaned the house, etc. etc.

These are the days that I really truly miss him. Not that I don't miss him every single day, because I do, but these are the days that I'm alone to really be with my thoughts.

Our house is empty without him and Charlie. We rent a 4 bedroom house and with just Milo and I, there have been days perhaps a week or so that I haven't even been in the other 3 bedrooms (office, guest bedroom, workout/excess wedding related storage).

I know I need to keep in all in perspective, he's just in Texas (not Iraq) and for that I'm forever grateful, but that doesn't put him here with me today.

I wish here was here so he could help me put the Christmas decorations back up in the attic, cut down the dead flowers in the yard, go with me to the pug meetup at the dog park, go to yoga together, go get some subway, and just hang out. But he can't be here so Milo and I will make do.

We're going to do some laundry, go to our pug meetup, go to the grocery store, clean up the house, and hopefully go on a long walk (if it doesn't rain).

Miss you Mr. Jetplane, can't wait to see you.

Here's to a great 2009

Well the Jetplanes' 2008 went out without much merriment.

Mr. Jetplane went to see a movie by himself and laid on the couch all night.
Mrs. Jetplane and Milo hung out, attempted to clean, and got a lil tipsy on some cheap champagne.
Let's revisit some high's and low's from the past year.
Mrs. Jetplane went with her gal pals to Vegas to celebrate her upcoming wedding.

We're partying it up at PURE DJ AM was spinning. We had so much fun and talked our way into hanging out with a bachelor party from Chicago. If I remember right, we "knew of" some of the same people. Small world. Don't worry the guys are friends who live out in Vegas. This was one of the best weekends ever. Thanks ladies and guys. We're in our private pool at Wet Republic. It was a CRAZY day, so crazy we didn't go out that night. Mr. Jetplane still makes fun of me for that.

Charlie had to have surgery to remove a towel he ate.

Mr. Jetplane successfully passed flight school and got his wings. And broke 3 bones in his foot 2 weeks before the wedding.

From Mr. Jetplane's winging ceremony.

The night of his winging party. He was drunk and it was only 8pm.

The Jetplanes tied the knot.

Honeymooned in the Dominican Republic.

Mama Jetplane was diagnosed with breast cancer and now is cancer free.

Its been a wonderful and challenging year for the Jetplanes. Here's to a great 2009. The Jetplanes should have an exciting year - moving to NC, hopefully buying house, upcoming weddings of some of my besties, upcoming trips, and most important... getting to live together again.

Hope you all have a blessed 2009. And thank you all for your kind words and friendship over the past few months I've been blogging, its been great.

Lil Jetplane Family Reunion

As I said earlier last week was the first time our whole family was back together since October. No the Jetplanes don't have what you like to refer to as "kids" we have 2 dogs. And by family, I mean all 4 of us, dogs included, were back together.

I know I talk about Milo all the time, that's because he's my baby and I had him before the Mr. and I ever met. But we do have another dog, Charlie. Charlie is an American Bulldog. He's 1 1/2 years old. I never wanted a "big" dog, Mr. Jetplane always wanted a "big" dog, an American Bulldog to be particular. So what did he do, he found a puppy for sale the weekend after asking me to marry him.

What was a girl to do???

Here his Charlie and his favorite person in the world, Mr. Jetplane. He loves his daddy so much.

You see, even though he's a "big dog" he desperately wants to be a small dog. Here he is, trying to fit his big ol booty into Milo's lil bed.

Here's Charlie... so excited about his Christmas bone.

Here's the Jetplanes' make shift Christmas set up in Texas. I brought our stockings and my lil tree decorated with lime green ornaments.
