Jetplanes Getaway...

This time next week, the Jetplanes will be here...
For those of you that don't know, this is Wrigley Field, as in the home of the Chicago Cubs, AKA Mr. Jetplane's favorite sports team EVER. Yes, Mr. Jetplane is a tried and true Cubbies fan. And at the beginning of every season when tickets go on sale, its a crazy day of waiting in 'virtual' waiting rooms to get as many tickets, for as many games as possible.
To be completely honest, it is way easier to get Cubs tickets when they are playing an away game then getting tickets (that aren't over-priced) from the Cubs themselves. The games sell out and they sell out fast.
We, and by we, I mean I sat in that damn virtual waiting room all day. However I did score 6, count em, 6 seats together for the Cubs/Cards game. If you know anything, you know the Cubs/Cards games are the BEST. It a heated rivalry and since they are so close to each other you'll get a lot of the opposing teams fan in attendance. So needless to say we are excited. We may also get to go to the Saturday game as well, we'll see.
We'll be up in Chicago from Wednesday evening until Sunday morning when I fly back to P'cola. Luckily, it turns out over those few days, a lot of our friends are going to be in the city. A college friend is having a bday party on Saturday. And hopefully, I'll get to see lil baby C again who is just getting so big I can't stand it.
Mr. Jetplane is staying in Illinois to visit family and he'll meet me the following weekend in STL for guess what.... another Cubs/Cards game in STL (with my cousin and her hubby) and then a college roomie/sorority sister's wedding on Saturday. Then we are DRIVING home on Sunday.

So Jealous! I love the Cubs!! I went to a game a few years ago and just haven't got back up there since.

Hopefully the weather will be perfect in our fair city for your weekend here! I am running my first 10K (The Wrigley Start Early) next weekend, so I'm also hoping for good weather!! Are you staying in the city or in the burbs?
That is a great score on tickets! My husband is a huge Cardinals fan. We already have out baseball games for the season all planned out too haha. Have fun!
How fun!! Hubs and I want to go to Chicago so bad and watch a game! We were supposed to go for our anniversary (this wkend) but things didn't work out :( Can't wait to hear all about it!

I LOVE THE CUBBIES!!! They are my team forever and always. One thing I miss since I moved from Chicago to Colorado, is going to the opening day game with my dad.. he does the radio show for WGN every year for well over a decade now! At least when they come to play the Rockies, tickets run about $4 for the "rock pile" seats.. best time ever. HAVE FUN!!!! GO CUBS GO!!!!

I've been to Wrigley quite a few times...my family is from Indy so we were close and took lots of Chicago trips. My sis lives there now.
We're Sox fans though :) But you'll be happy to know that my hubby is not budging on his love of the Cubs...as much as I try: aka force him to.

It sounds like such an exciting week. I hope you guys have a great time. I have a friend in Chicago who plays in a band and he tells me that sometimes they play at the games. Not sure which band he will play with since he plays in a couple but it might be the Patty Elvis Band.

wrigley field is one of my favorite places ever. todd had never been when we met, so i got him tickets to a cubs v. braves game in 2007 and he was in heaven. i hope you two have a blast!!!
