VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION

The Jetplanes are attending a semi formal on Saturday. I am wearing a black cocktail dress and I want to wear these heels. Lovely, yes?

Is it okay to wear open toed shoes, sans stockings, in February to an event...

Discuss amongst yourselves....

I certainly do. But goodness knows if that's proper. My personal opinion is that I dislike seeing the toe seam of stockings in open toed shoes.

Heck yes! I don't see why not. You may be a little chilly, but you'll look like hot hot lady I bet! haha

I think so, but I know that I personally would freeze my tootsies off! Those shoes are gorgeous though!

Oh and be sure to use a little self tanner first, b/c if you are like me my legs are a scary shade of pastey this time of year!

In an event in December I was at, I had shoes in that style, peep toe, and wore a strapless cocktail dress. However, it was freeezziinngg outside. My mom talked me into sheer nude TOE-less hose. I am so glad I actually for once listened to her! And I didn't look so white pasty legs either ;-)

Yes! You are going to rock it girl!

stockings are very outdated. Last time I wore some was 10 years ago. Go for it! Plus, they itch, run, and just make the night that more miserable..

I say go for it. I would wear open toe shoes to work during the winter, but to a special event? Heck yeah! Long as it's not snowing, I say knock em dead!

I'd have a problem if you DID wear stockings with open toed shoes!

I'm not a fan of seeing a stocking seam with an open toe shoe. Reminds me of an 'old' lady. And it's semi-formal, nobody will think twice if you don't have tights on and you are wearing open-toed shoes. LOVE the shoes, BTW (and the blog).

Um, yeah! Those are hot too!!

Personally, I would not wear tights or stockings with open toed shoes. Not a fan of the "seam" showing.

Darling shoes though!

Personally I think no stocking with open toed shoes. It looks too Grandma-ish. But, that's just me.

Love those shoes!

No stockings Mrs. Jetplane. Better to be a little pale and cold, than the seam.
The shoes are beautiful! Do tell!

You're better than me! We have an ROA dinner in which B is a guest speaker in two weeks...I'm wearing black flats. Proper shoes/tights? Pfft.

As long as your legs won't blind the others and it's not outdoors, then go without. Those shoes are cute!

So I've been following your blog for awhile now and never commented...but those shoes are worth a comment!
I say go for it! I was talked into wearing seamless hose with a pair of peep toe shoes to a Christmas dinner last year. As soon as I stepped on the dance floor with my husband he noticed that I had a run in them, so I had to run to the bathroom and take them off and hope that no one noticed! Its definitely not worth the hassle!

Yes! It is absolutely okay! Especially if that means you get to wear those gorgeous heels!

I think so. You might be cold but I think it's fine to wear them.

Definitely okay for an evening event. Not okay like to work or something like that, but you'll be fine. LOVE those heels by the way!
