Yes, yes I am an 80s movie, John Hughes fanatic. As a child born in 1980 I think I'm slightly obligated. When they say they don't make movies like that anymore...THEY are right. The closest they ever came was Can't Hardly Wait.

So Mr. Jetplane left on Friday. He's TDY in Vegas for a few weeks. He's down there playing war games or whatever else it is that they do down there. Its Vegas so I don't feel too bad for him, but he is putting in long hours.

Thankfully I'm heading down there next month for a long weekend. Hopefully he'll be off the night schedule by then.

I missed him a lot this weekend. You never get used to them being gone. But, and I only speak for myself here, I start to feel bad when I complain that he's gone for only 4-6 weeks when it could be 6 months. Its all perspective I guess.

Here's to the time flying by :)

Do you ever have those songs that just make you happy? Songs that put you in a good mood?

Sure I have songs that makes me want to dance, lift of a glass, or sing along (or maybe even cry) but some songs just make me happy. They lift my spirit and sometimes we need a lil lift, am I right?



You may have seen a portion of this on the Super Bowl. Its a great song but the video is pretty darn cool.



And this song makes me delirious happy for some reason. It makes driving to the grocery store or typing up my 5th report of the day so much more enjoyable.

What songs are making you happy right now! I can always use a lil more cheer in my days!

And if those songs don't make you happy how about this....

Not sure I like it. Not sure if its me.

So what do you think about trends out there in blog land? Are we judging to harshly? I read a ton of home decor and design blogs. I read a lot of home decor magazines. I imagine I see and like things that perhaps others that aren't as absorbed in this "culture" wouldn't come into contact with.

Thoughts?

Do I jump on a trend bandwagon because of the blogs and magazines I read? Or am I ahead of the curve and before its jumped the shark?

I honestly find myself doing this more with home decor and some beauty items over clothes. While I like some trendy clothes, I generally don't invest in the trendier items.

What do you think?

What trends out there do think are played out and what things do you think are classic and will never die no matter how many knock offs are sold at Target? Has Pinterest changed everything?

I seriously don't think it gets any better than this!

First of all I apologize for being weird and vague out here in blog land lately. Some major things have been going down and some things I'm still not going to share... but a big one is that we thought Mr might be deploying again...like real soon...like reallllly soon. Yeah I know. I lost it. I lost it all.

He dropped the bomb (no pun intended) on me in a restaurant, which I was pissed about and may have appreciated somewhat. I was shocked. I thought he was joking. We have a messed up sense of humor, so I seriously thought he was joking. He hasn't even been back 5 months yet. When I found out it, he hadn't even been home 4 months.

We needed to prepare that he might be gone again for 6-7 months. He was a short list, a very short list, of people that were going to get volun-told to go.

I thought I was going to be physically ill. I just got him back. We have trips planned. Heck he's going to be TDY back and forth for the next 4+ months anyway...but still at least he wouldn't be at war.

So I prayed and I prayed. I cried and got pissed off. And then I may have got drunk and pissed off again. Hey just being truthful here.

BUT!!!! Thankfully it doesn't look like its going to be happening. Praise the Lord!

So that is a BIG reason why I have been weird lately so I apologize.

But even though it looks like my love doesn't have to go and I am so thankful for that, I am still praying for those that do.

Hope everyone has a lovely Vday! Unfortunately I probably won't get to see my valentine until 10pm tonight but at least we got to eat breakfast together this morning.

Please accept my apologies for the perhaps Debbie Downer posts lately. A lot has been going on around these parts and its weighing heavy on us, some good news and some not so good news. Things are looking UP, but we're not out of the woods yet.

Mr. Jetplane bought a new Harley when he came back from deployment. Actually he bought it over there and it was made for him while he was deployed. We only got to ride it a couple of times before it got cold. Can't wait for warmer weather...

I have looked at this quote every day this week. We got some news on Friday which could potentially rock our worlds.
