Jetplanes are home...finally

The Jetplanes had another fantastically tiring and awesome weekend in the Midwest with family and friends. As you may recall Mr. Jetplane has been up north for 2 weeks and I have flown back and forth to meet him first in Chicago and then in St. Louis. We met up Friday afternoon in St. Louis when he picked up from the airport. We then headed over to my cousin's house who lives in STL.

The Jetplanes had scored great bleacher seats for the Cards v. Cubs game that night. My cousin and her hubby are Cards fans, the Jetplanes are not. But we still had a wonderful time. This guy was in the bleachers next to us. We didn't get hassled too much at the game, sporting our Cubbie love. But at the bars later, Mrs. Jetplane got into it alittle with some Cards fan (male of course). The drunks boys (yes Boys because they couldn't possibly be MEN), said rude and annoying sh!t to me. Well I'm a girl that stands up for herself, and asked them if they were seriously trying to pick a fight with a 5'2" Cubs fan? And just how immature are you? Don't worry... I held my own, and they all agreed that they were obviously very immature and drunk. Luckily, I had some friends in town for the game as well, and got to see them. Here's my MOH, Dr. W. Yes, she's a Cards fan and I still love her. Saturday we left STL for IL to go to my old college roomie/sorority sister K's wedding. Her and I are both from Southern Illinois and it cracks me up how 'different' our neck of the woods is for our friends from the Chicago area. Her and her hubby got married in a lovely Catholic ceremony and then the reception was held at a local winery. The Jetplanes stayed at one of the cabins at the winery. Check out of lovely heart shaped hot tub in our cabin... it was awesome. Here's a lil shot of the Jetplanes at the reception. Yes, I am sporting another ruffled dress.

Sunday morning we headed home and stopped to meet my parents at a Bob Evans off the interstate close to their house. It was great to see them. We made the long trek home and were so happy to get home safe and sound.

A better recap is coming...

Happy Monday!!
XOXO

A little dose of Pug does a body good...

Good Morning and Happy Friday to everyone out there in bloggy land. This has been a crazy week but a lot of exciting things have happened.

1. J had her baby, who will be affectionately referred to as Baby C.

2. All my television shows are back on, yeah for couch potatoes everywhere.

3. Work has been a little crazy, a lot of new projects which is good so I can make some more $$$.

4. Back to $$$, I haven't bought anything this week. Well other than my lunch all week, I've been bad. But I wanted to finish my book and I need to be out of the office to do that.

5. I finished the 1st Sookie Stackhouse book - Dead Until Dark. I really liked it and brought the 2nd book with me to work today.

6. I won an award which I have to blog about later today.

Well, I can't let Friday go by without giving you a little puggie love. There's nothing like a pug that loves to party...
Happy Friday, stay warm wherever you all are. It cold in P'cola today, I'm wearing a wool Ralph Lauren sweater, with a long sleeve tee under it, jeans (yeah Friday), knee high black boots, a hot pink pashmina, and my trusty North Face fleece. Yes, I still live in Florida, but it gets cold up here too.

Last but not least, with inauguration just around the corner, I couldn't help but do this. I know we don't all share the same political views, and I make it a point to not discuss them on here, but I had to do this.

Weekend Essentials

So per muffymartini's suggestion I headed to Cost Plus World Market over my lunch break. Yes, I call it by its full name, I always have and always will. Some of my friends make fun of me.

Anyway, she was ranting and raving about the explosion of all things pumpkin so I went with the intention of taking a look at the decorations, and ended up with with I normally end up with BOOZE! That's right, I bought 2 arms full over booze. I love their selection of sparkling wines and champagne. I'm a champagne and white wine gal, sorry not a huge fan of reds.

So I bought Brent's favorite And then I bought some of my own...

Now I have only had Sofia once before, but I really liked it. I was totally excited because the last like 10 times that I have been to Cost Plus World Market (see I did it again), they have been sold out. I have not yet had the Rose Wine but I am excited. There is a vineyard near Indy that had the best Rose Wine so I'm hoping it will be similar to theirs.

FYI - Veuve Clicquot is my favorite champagne but it can be pricey. But, its on sale right now, at you guessed it, Cost Plus World Market for $37.00. I was going to get a couple of bottles, but I thought I had enough booze. I have 2 bottles of Pinot Gringo in the pantry and a couple bottles of white wine from our wedding (we only used wine from the area's local vineyards, a blog for another time.)

So now I can't wait to get home and put that baby on ice.... Have a great weekend everyone, and Drink Up! Salud!
