VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION

The Jetplanes are attending a semi formal on Saturday. I am wearing a black cocktail dress and I want to wear these heels. Lovely, yes?

Is it okay to wear open toed shoes, sans stockings, in February to an event...

Discuss amongst yourselves....

Hello...Hello...Hello...

There you are...sorry I am been an MIA blogger the past couple of weeks, that was not my intention.

But it also wasn't my intention getting sick either. Today's post, unfortunately will be a random, I mean REAL random.

1. While sick I visited the Flight Doc on base. My doctor was quite a hottie and a former fighter pilot...it is not fun to talk about your bodily functions with a cute, young doctor, while dressed like homeless person with dirty hair, no makeup, and then realizing you aren't even wearing a bra...oh yeah...nice. Yes I left the house without a bra on, but in my defense, I was really sick and had on 2 shirts, a hoodie, yoga pants, a scarf, coat, and a hat...yeah homegirl was freezing her bootie off.

2. In about 30 days we will find out where we are moving to. The arrow is pointing to Idaho. Cue all the jealous now... I spent last night looking at houses for sale in Idaho.

3. I'm happy to report that I gave up online shopping for Lent and I haven't caved yet!!

4. This is currently on repeat on my computer and in my head....

5. The Jetplanes are going to a semi formal on Saturday. I'm recycling a black cocktail dress and sporting my Blue Bow Knock off Valentino shoes. Our squadron color is blue and I'm suppose to integrate that into my outfit. I'm worried I might not be dressed up enough, but oh well.

6. Also I've joined Formspring.me. You can ask me anything and everything you ever wanted...and do it anonymously if you so wish....

Discount Diva

Hello all! First things first... My giveaway ends tonight! Get in while you still can. I'll reveal the winner this weekend.

Now back to regularly scheduled programming....I have recently made some very cute (if I do say so myself) purchases at Tar-jay... my mecca of home goods and needed closet additions... since we've moved, the nearest real mall is 45 minutes away, its as close as I'm getting.

So what have I bought you ask.... well first off, these adorable lil shoes. I have paired them with a shift and tights, as well as a dress with leggings. They add a nice pop of color to a black/white and/or gray combo that I seem to wear a lot these days.

I also purchased the following two dresses. But be forewarned these dresses are short and I'm saying that as a girl that is 5'2". I have worn them with tights and leggings. I have paired them with a black and a grey boyfriend type cardigan from Old Navy.
Finally, what is a Target run without hitting up the jewelry department. I purchased this fabulous necklace for under $20. I dream about pairing it with everything this fall and winter, a crisp, white button down and jeans or adding it to a shift dress. It automatically jumps the simple, plain outfit to the next level. Love it and for $19.99, seriously I can't resist. I had hoped to make an Old Navy run last night before Mr. Jetplane's volleyball game in this outfit (FYI this is the 1st time I was to wear leggings in public without a dress over them...It was to be monumental for me). I desperately wanted to pick up a sweater to 2 that were not available in my size on the net.Unfortunately for me (or was it a sign) my car was dead. Its still dead...sitting in the garage. Mr didn't get home until 9:30 and he has class all day today. Good thing I work from home :(

Outfit above is black legging from BR purchased on sale, white v-neck Hanes tshirt, grey boyfriend cardigan from Old Navy, grey/silver scarf Target, and Nine West Riding Boots bought at the outlet 2 years ago.

I'll be the first to admit leggings have scared me. I'm short and I was cursed with some thighs... How is everyone feeling about leggings?

Don't forget to enter my giveaway....

I'm Just A Girl...who loves shoes

Thank you TJ Maxx for being so helpful in my shoe addiction. Here are some recent purchases and the reason that I am still nursing an injury from my Vegas trip. I totally bit it in the middle of the MGM thanks to one of these lovely babies...

These cuties are Jessica Simpson and I got them for $49.00. They had them in black as well.

I purchased these cute pink/orange Kate Spade's for $49.00. I had been eyeing them online for quite some time but never purchased them. But at $49 I couldn't resist.

These BCBG numbers are hot & high & are the reason that the top of my right foot is still sore from my very unladylike fall.

Last but not least... I got my pair of these lovely blue ladies... They are awesome. My friend Lou tracked them down in ATL and mailed them to me.

Yes, as you can see I keep all my 'good' shoes in boxes, either the boxes that they come in or I buy the $1 boxes from Walmart/Target.

Yes, I love shoes!

Ashamed of Myself

So the Jetplanes are having a yard sale this coming weekend, and the house is in full yard sale mode. The garage has been overtaken and Mrs. Jetplane's stuff is all there in its obscene glory.

Okay, I know that I have a ridiculous amount of clothes, shoes, purses, etc. But honestly, I didn't really understand the full magnitude of the situation here. I guess I've always just cleared out a bag or two of clothes and dropped them off to goodwill without a lot of thought. But now, really seeing it and getting rid of it, OMG people.

I'm still without my laptop or I'd show you what I'm talking about. I hope someone buys some of these clothes because there is some seriously good stuff here - 2 formal dresses, about 15 purses, luggage, 20 pairs of shoes (5 of which have never been worn...yes the shame), BR jackets, BR shirts, crap load of Old Navy, F21, jewelry, unopened stationary, Columbia fleeces and coats, cookware, home decor, etc. etc.

I'm totally ashamed of myself and the amount of crap I have. Mr. Jetplane and I had a talk last night, I'm going to really think about my clothing purchases before I make them. I'm going to try my best.

Pray for me and my shopping addiction... And if you're in Pcola.... WE'RE HAVING A YARD SALE THIS WEEKEND.... PLEASE BUY OUR STUFF.

Important Shopping Information Below...

Kate Spade sale on Rue La La today starting at 10am Central.

If you need an invite click on link below.

Please leave all the size 6.5 shoes to me, there appears to me some very cute flats. I'm not interested in the sunglasses so please focus on them and not the shoes...shoes are my crack...and mama needs her crack. I have $90 in credits from an unfortunate Juicy purchase burning a hole in my pocket that I want to spend today.

Additionally,BR and JCrew outlets appear to be having great sales this weekend. Also, BR accidentally sent me my Luxe Card bill 2x this month, and included my $20 off card twice. Holla!! Someone may be going to the outlet this weekend, even though she told her hubby no shopping...ugh...

You know what makes my day better...

Wearing this lil number that was just delivered last night.

I adore it and am thinking about getting the pink one as well (on sale right now). I have paired it with a white Old Navy tank and a black pencil skirt with satin waist band that I literally found in my closet this morning with tags on it (from Old Navy as well). I had no idea I had this skirt... that may say something for my shopping and my closet.

And I'm wearing my "high" heel black suede open toed Nine West Mary Janes. I feel so much better when I'm in a cute outfit, don't you?

And obviously I'm carrying my bright yellow JCrew tote. What is summer without it...

Sorry I'm blogging about clothes alot, but I've been getting some good deals lately.

Update: Sweater is from JCrew, sorry I forgot to mention that.

Mrs. Jetplanes Wedding Attire..

Mr. Jetplane assumed since the wedding was beach casual that Mrs. Jetplane would not require a new outfit. Well, he was sourly mistaken, but I was able to get my entire outfit on quite a budget.
First things first, I bought these adorable sandals at Target for under $20. They have them in white, blue, green, and black. I think I will need to by them in the green as well. I adore them, and they look shocking just like the pair I saw at Aldo last week but for substantially less. I'm sure they are a knock off of someone else, but Mrs. Jetplane unfortunately doesn't know who.

The sandals were paired with this Coral dress from the Gap. Its very cute, and a little redder in color than appears in the picture. I purchased this on sale for $37.00 that included tax. What's a summer beach wedding without my bright yellow JCrew bag that I bought on crazy sale during the winter months. I had to bring this big bag because I needed to pack a hairbrush, scarf, and sweater in case it got cool on the water, which it did.

Okay, this is unrelated to the wedding, but I did make this purchase last week during the Lilly Sale on Rue. I'll admit I am not a huge Lilly fan, there I said it, do with that what you will. I own a reversible swim suit that I purchased at TJ Maxx, as well as a navy (no print) shift dress and a cardigan (both on sale). I was unsure about the sizing, my shift is a 4 so I bought a 4, we shall see. Since I'm small up top and very narrow shoulders, I really have to try dresses on... I purchased this with my Rue credits so it didn't hurt the bank at all.
I promise some more exciting Jetplane news will be coming....
**One comment I forgot to add to my morning post, the instructor is in the Air Force, that's what made the students flying in from NC much more special.

No JCrew Love at my TJ Maxx

Well it appears that I have a craptastic TJ Maxx and they don't have any JCrew stuff. I'm VERY disappointed. But that being said I did pick up these lovely ladies.

Calvin Klein leather platforms, they are ridiculously hot and can't wait to wear them.

And I had my favorite dessert again tonight... I had a little larger "drizzle" of chocolate today.

FYI - Milo love mini marshmallows, he's waiting for me to throw him one...

I've been a bad girl...

Mama Jetplane is going to love this...

As promised here is the painting....

Take a look at the original pictures, didn't she do a wonderful job. I adore it and I know Mama Jetplane will as well. I actually cried when I saw it, because I knew how happy it would make my parents. The artist is the wife of one of my co-workers, she's incredibly talented. I'm thinking about having her to smaller portraits of Milo and Charlie's faces with a bright background, sort of Andy Warhol style (of course).

And as promised.... Here are my $8 shoes from Target. Pretty cute for 8 bucks, right?

Mrs. Jetplane has been a bad girl...

I went to Target yesterday during my lunch hour and I spent $55. There I said it, its out in the open the spending fast has been broken. I feel so ashamed, no that's actually a lie, I don't feel ashamed but I suppose I should.

I went there to buy Baby C a little cotton onesie that I'm going to have embroidered with her initials on it, that was the plan at least. Mama J adores brown and pink so I found this adorable 100% long sleeve striped onesie (they live in Chicago, so its cold up there).

Well then I found a pair of J.Crew inspired peep toes for $8.00 clearance, so I bought them. I'll take a pic because I can't find them online. I mean come on $8.00, they are practically giving them away right?

Then I went to home decor and they had their seasonal home decor 30% off and I had to buy a set of these (well they were the only ones left). They are going in the guest bathroom, which is nautical/beach looking.

Oh and I also bought a set of t-shirt sheets in lime green. The master bedroom is navy, white, and hints of lime green. Mr. Jetplane has t-shirt sheets on his bed in Texas and says he wanted them at home. So we'll see how it goes, if I don't like them, well they'll get put to use on the air mattress.

I'm kinda a sheet snob, and I require them to be really soft. I personally enjoy an all white bed, but soon learned after we moved in together, that wouldn't be in the plan for us. You see Mr. Jetplane's body emits some weird stuff in his sleep and he literally stains the sheets. My beautiful high thread count white sheets, I bleach the crap out of them but it got to be really annoying. My mom said it was metals and impurities in his skin, I don't know what it was other than totally disgusting.

So I'll give you the update on the t-shirt sheets. I have to admit, while they do keep me warm, they remind me of shacking up with my old college boyfriend, he had jersey sheets.

So there... My shopping is all out in the open. But I promise to be good the rest of the month....

I don't have many pet peeves but....

I do have some and recently they have been aggravated....

1. If you leave a room, turn off the light, especially the bathroom.

2. If you have the last soda in a carton, throw out carton. I see it and can almost taste it, and for there to be none in there.... I find it hard to not want to punch you in the face.

3. Please don't invade my personal space. I don't like close talkers and people that feel they need to touch me when they are talking to me. Don't put your hand on my shoulder while you walk by and say "Hi", it totally freaks me out.

4. Please don't make me see your butt crack in public places. I know you feel a draft when your shirt rides up and pants fall down. I've been there, I know.

5. Please don't ask me if my pug is that dog from that movie. And don't say to me, oh I've seen those around a lot lately, its very trendy. I've had him for almost 6 years, I'm not being trendy. Look at him, his has gray hair, does he look like a freaking puppy.

6. And finally I have a serious issue with people wearing shoes and their toes stick out over the tops of them. For some reason it disturbs me, I don't know why but it does. Sorry, maybe I'm a weirdo, but it totally freaks me out. If your foot is hanging over your shoe, it might be too small. Case in point, these are 2 very well known celebrities at the Golden Globes wearing very expensive shoes and it grosses me out.

Sorry for the Debbie Downer moment. Bitching closed for this morning.

Happy Hump Day to you all...

Its a good day...

Its somewhat sunny and in high 60s down here in Florida. I'm wearing a black shirt dress from BR and these lovely ladies that I bought from Rue La La.

Thanks again for the invite Muffy.

I've paired it with my lovely yellow bag from JCrew that I got for $70 during their crazy sales. I have an affinity for large purses. I have everything in my purse that I could need today - book, umbrella, phone charger, planner, snacks, morning Red Bull, cards that need mailing, everything...

Happy Monday.

xoxo

Thank you's all around

I talked to my mom a couple of times tonight, she sounded very tired and a little drugged up, but everything seems to be okay, well as ok, as it can be.

I wanted to say thank you all again for all the support I've received this past couple of days. Its truly amazing how much strangers can prop you up in a time like this. I've felt like I'm kinda on an island to myself here, with living 10 hours away from home and the Mr. in Texas, its been great to feel the support from you all.

And a HUGE thank you to Gwen from Confession of a Control Freak. She has a wonderful blog and I love reading all the sweet comments she leaves me. I'm also so happy that her beloved cat is back home where he belongs. She bestowed upon me my 2nd award, and its too cute for words.

You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs in a post.

1. Muffy - I love reading her blog, and I can't wait to learn all about her upcoming wedding plans.
2. Some Like it Southern - She's become my new blogging friend. And I excited to see her upcoming lil baby.

3. Nina - I find her blog to be funny, informative, and I know we all can't wait till she's back on the Internet. I also can't believe that we're both from the area. It truly is a small, small world.

4. Chic Runner - I've just started keeping up with her blog, and have enjoyed all her comments she leaves me. I wish deep down I was a runner.... unfortunately as I've said before, I am not.

5. Dugout Daisy - I love hearing her talk about how much she adores Twilight. I'm so jealous she's already seen it.

You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions in the post.

1. I'm addicted to shopping, shopping for anything. I love to buy clothes, shoes, dog toys, food, cleaning products, flowers.... you name it I enjoy buying it.

2. I'm addicted to television. Project Runway, Top Chef, Grey's Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and the list goes on.

3. I'm addicted to caffeine, but I don't drink coffee. I will admit that I have drastically cut down my intake in the past 2 years. But I do have to have 1 caffeine drink a day, or I get a headache. I drink a Sugar Free Red Bull almost every morning while sitting at my office.

4. I'm addicted to Banana Republic. And BR sending my coupons every month for $10 to $20 off as a thank you for putting some damage onto my BR Luxe card, doesn't help.

5. I'm addicted to shoes and cardigans. I love shoes. I love cardigans. I don't even know how many I have. Its a problem.

You must copy and paste the rules and the instructions below in the post.

Instructions: On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. Today got alittle better....

When I went shopping on my lunch hour.

I bought 2 pairs of shoes and I'll be honest I do have a little buyer's remorse. Of course I happen to like the only shoes that aren't on sale. And also, I believe that my left foot has gotten smaller, is that possible???? At first, I was blaming it on the shoes being stretched out, but after 3 pairs at 2 different shoes, it's obviously me not the shoes.

Anyway.... Here's what I bought.

1. I have a black dress that I am wearing to the wedding... Is that wrong, whatever I usually wear black to weddings. And I've been wanting a pair of purple shoes. Purple is the "hot" color for Fall. So I bought these.

Sorry my pictures are sideways....

2. I was watching this other woman trying on dress shoes and I fell in love with a pair she was trying on but I couldn't find them as I walked through the store. Luckily, or unluckily, as I was checking out I asked the sales lady where they were. She found them for me, in my size 6 (which seems to be difficult to find in P'cola) and I bought them, they are $125 w/o tax. I have serious buyer's remorse, but I love them. At least I think I love them.
I like the chunky heel and leather buckle look. I think they'll be cute with jeans and sweaters, as well as, with black tights and dresses/skirts.

Here is the dress I'm wearing to the wedding. I needed some cute, but would also travel well in my carry-on, b/c I'm totally not checking my bags for this trip.

The dress is from The Limited only $79 not on sale. The back lace section is open and a high button collar. Its cute. Don't tell Brent but it looks a lot like my black lace dress from BR, but that one has a creme ribbon sash. Also, I've lost weight and that dress is too big anyway....

So now I need to figure out what purse I'm going to use. Top Black Flower BR purse, Middle Purple suede Ann Taylor, or the Black Leather BR purse... I like the purple one, but that's probably too much. I'll probably just pack them all....

It 's suppose to be in the 70's but I'm going to pack my black tights and black mini fish nets, and a pashmina to be on the safe side...
