Mrs. Jetplane's Home Office Update

Well the disaster that was ordering my desk has subsided and I'm happy to report that my new desk is sitting in boxes and un-assembled currently in my garage. I picked it up yesterday morning.
To jog your memories, this is my inspiration piece a la Pottery Barn.
I adore this desk but even on sale at $650 (before tax and shipping) I just couldn't do it.
But after a lot of searching the Internet after the one I decided on was out of stock I selected the one below...
Its from JCPenny and on sale. I got free shipping to the store and bought it for around $475. I purchased the CPU cabinet, rectangular desk top and a 2 drawer unit. I'm getting excited about this new adventure...

That's a great price for a desk, especially one with so much space! We're budgeting about $500 for a new desk, as long as it's well made and will last. Sounds like you made a very good decision!
By the way, Labor Day we'll be in P'cola with some friends staying on the base.
I love those pieces!! I have checked them out on the JCP website before, just never took the plunge...can't wait to see the final product! =)

You are going to die, but I just saw that EXACT PB desk at the Pottery Barn Outlet three weeks ago in San Marcos, TX.
It was priced at $500 and was 40% off. The ONLY reason I didn't go home with it was I had to choose between it or a jute rug that I've been wanting for awhile now! I already have a PB desk (it's older and I got it from a custom home model sale for $20!!), so the jute rug won!
The other desk (so very similar) is gorgeous though too! I'm sure it will look great!!!

I have been looking at the JC Penney desk for a while... you'll have to be sure to update us on how it is when you get everything set up! Looks great!

YIKES! I had no idea desks were so expensive! I remember in college at the end of the school year desks would be tossed out on the street! I had one for two years my roommate found on the street!
Sure wish I could go back with a U-Haul and get some new furniture! HAHAHA!
