Newest Addition to Mrs. Jetplane's Closet

So I went to the mall to take a look at the BCBG sale since I had mutliple coupons. Unfortunately I didn't see anything worth buying but I did find this lil number... of course NOT on sale.

Click the picture for info on the dress.

Now the question is, it is ok to wear this to Mr. Jetplane's sister's Vegas wedding next month?(that we just found out about...btw...total side story...really annoyed....will discuss later..)

Your advice is needed sweet readers...

In my opinion, it would be perfectly acceptable to wear to the wedding. Pair it up with some cute heels and it would look fantastic!

Pretty! I really like the splash of purple. This keeps you from being one of THOSE people. You know, the one's who wear a white dress to the wedding. :)

It depends. Fist off, it's a totally gorgeous dress. I love it muchly.

But.
If she knows that you are annoyed with her/her wedding/the timing/lack of info/whatever the issue is, & you rock up to her wedding in a dress that has white on it.... you will never be forgiven. Mark my words.

Whatever the problem is, be the bigger person, & do not wear white to a wedding. It is a gorgeous, gorgeous dress, but bad manners to wear it. If you are really annoyed, go the chic (passive aggressive) route & wear a slinky, stunning LBD.

But bloody hell, I love that dress.

I think the dress is very appropriate for a Vegas wedding! The only thing I'd be concerned about is there is a bunch of white on it... is the back purple? Either way, I think you would still be "etiquette-ly acceptable" so long as you feel comfortable in it!!!

I love the dress but I'm not sure it is wedding appropriate, just b/c it has so much white. But it would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner or evening out. There wouldn't be an issue if the white and purple were reversed.

I know that's not what most people think these days, I am just my mother's daughter and shiver every time I see someone besides the bride wearing white...but I am also neurotic about all the other white "rules"

I think that's completely acceptable. And completely adorable.

I'm going to be the bad guy here and say that it is too much white and you shouldn't wear it. 2009 or not, some people take those archaic rules really really seriously and I'd hate for you to really piss her off.

I wish it had more purple because I would totally say yes. It is a gorgeous dress!

I think so!! The purple portion takes away from the "white" factor. I say go for it!! Can't wait to hear about the side story..

Hmm, I don't think I would wear it just because I wouldn't want to piss anyone off. It is a super fun dress though!

On a related note, my sister-in-law pulled an annoying wedding stunt, which I guest blogged about on Sweet Bea's blog. Can't wait to hear about yours!

If it's in the evening in Vegas then yes you could totally wear that to the wedding! It's super cute!

I'm going to go with no, it's not appropriate for a wedding.

I wore white to my cousin's wedding because I was po'd at her for various reasons. One reason was she was having a formal wedding and guests had to wear formal evening gowns, so I was like, "If I have to spend the money, I'll wear what I want." My dress was mainly white with pink flowers and because it was a formal dress, it could have been worn as a wedding dress. At the time, I was like who cares. Now...I kinda regret it because I was an a$$ and the one day you should give a girl her respect and moment in the sun is her wedding day. I know I would have been kinda insulted if someone had shown up at MY wedding in white.

Even with the purple, I could see a hip bride wearing this dress as a wedding dress in Vegas, so I don't think you should wear it to her wedding.

i think it has enough purple in it, and she doesn't appear to be much about etiquette. but if you want to give her nothing to hang over you, just go with something else. but it is super cute!
